== please reconsider "John Laschinger" deletion ==

I would like to request undeletion and expansion of this page. A page on undeletion requests contacting the administrator who undeleted it, and the only admin. who seemed involved was you.

Your reasons for deletion in 2011 were:
"Doesn't meet Misplaced Pages:POLITICIAN guidelines, and lacks evidence of notability. He has been a campaign organizer several times, and not terribly successfully, one would note."

-- Politician guidelines include "Major local political figures who have received significant press coverage."
Laschinger is well known as a political operative in Toronto and elsewhere. Toronto Life called him "Toronto's most sought after campaign manager" and he apparently worked for Britsh Conservatives as well as Conservatives at several Canadian levels. But recently he appears with NDP candidates, a controversial switch in itself. Google him, and you will find lots of press references, including:

http://www.torontolife.com/tag/john-laschinger/
https://www.broadbentinstitute.ca/en/staff/john-laschinger

-- "not terribly successfully" seems a flippant comment. He's still well regarded (see Toronto Life) and is currently managing Olivia Chow's campaign for mayor. The campaign was considered front-running in early stages; some people blame its faltering on bad advice from people like Laschinger. So whether successful or not, he's important.

-- Misplaced Pages has, appropriately, a page for "Nick Kouvalis" -- disgraced mayor Rob Ford's strategist and former eminence gris, who is now working for Chow's main rival (excluding Doug Ford), John Tory. So these people are important.

I haven't been able to find the deleted page on Laschinger, so I don't know what was on it. But as he plays a continuing significant role in Toronto politics and beyond, I think it should be up and updated.
