B-baria is one of the oldest municipality in Bangladesh, and was established in the year 1769. B-baria was declared a district headquarters on 1984. It is the capital of Brahmanbaria District, the largest and most popular administrative district headquarters of Bangladesh. Its municipality area has a population of 1,68,636 at the 2011 Census. It was part of greater Comilla City until 1984. Its historical old name (with diacritics) is Brāhmānbāriā.

B-Baria is located at 23°57′56″N 91°06′29″E / 23.96559°N 91.10799°E / 23.96559; 91.10799 the east-central region of Bangladesh.
