The 2006 Vaughan, municipal election will take place on 13 November 2006, to elect a mayor, three regional councillors and five local councillors in the city of Vaughan, Ontario, Canada. It is being held in conjuction with all other municipalities in Ontario. See Ontario municipal elections, 2006.
A local newspaper, the Vaughan Citizen has confirmed that community activist Gino Ruffolo, whose wife is currently suing the city for wrongful dismissal, will run against current Mayor Michael Di Biase. Another article indicates Ruffolo promises to take a 20 percent paycut if he is elected. Regional Councillor Linda Jackson, daughter of deceased former mayor Lorna Jackson, whose estate is also suing the city, has announced her intention to run for the mayor's position.
