Green's Literal Translation (LITV) is a formal equivalence translation by Jay P. Green, Sr. of the Christian Bible.
Jay P. Green endeavors in this translation to provide the most accurate LITERAL translation possible of the original Hebrew text (Old Testament) and Greek texts (New Testament). He is adamant, in the preface, than many recent Bible translations, in particular, North American ones, have strayed from the exact meaning of the original texts, and in doing so, our faith in God and his word is compromised. His point is well taken, sometimes one inaccuracy in a crucial passage in any Bible Translation can mean the difference between being scripturally sound, vs. scripturally in error.
It is not the realm of a review to comment what you should or should not believe, that is both constrained by your own abilities and the faith and inspiration you receive from on high. Green does make the case correctly, that crucial errors can lead to a flawed understanding of God's word -- and he clearly endeavours to do the best that his human being and inspiration can achieve. It is a remarkable work that deserves the serious attention of any serious Bible student. His conviction to truth is obvious throughout.
