Although UT Tyler's campus is technically inside (barely) the corporate limits of a small/medium size city (population 100,000), the campus setting is far more suburban than urban. UT Tyler's campus is mostly surrounded by residential neighborhoods of single family dwellings. The campus location requires some form of automotive transportation to reach common city features such as shopping and other municipal services. Most UT Tyler students live off campus and most are automotive commuters. There is nothing about UT Tyler's campus setting that would suggest that it is contiguous with a high density urban population, such as UT Austin, UT Arlington, UT Dallas, UT San Antonio, University of Houston, Rice University, SMU, TCU, UNT, etc. | Although UT Tyler's campus is technically inside (barely) the corporate limits of a small/medium size city (population 100,000), the campus setting is far more suburban than urban. Does anyone who works at or attends UT Tyler even have a digital camera to take a few pics of the campus buildings that would prove to skeptics that this school really exists? How about mentioning the new construction happening on the south edge of the campus (Spring and Fall 2017)? How about mentioning UT Tyler's Houston Engineering Center? How about UT Tyler's STEM charter school, Innovation Academy? Here's my point: many people who have only heard that there is a branch of the University of Texas located in Tyler will look up this Misplaced Pages article to get a first, and possibly only, impression of this school, and conclude that there just really isn't anything noteworthy going on there. Are UT Tyler faculty, staff, and students embarrassed or ashamed of this school, so that they would rather not show the world what UT Tyler is really like? Or is it just laziness, or ineptitude by the Tyler community that has kept this article almost identical for over ten years now? Perhaps this article really does accurately reflect the spirit of this school. Prospective students who have a choice should apply elsewhere. |

Fair use rationale for Image:Uttylerpatriotlogo.jpg
Image:Uttylerpatriotlogo.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Misplaced Pages article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Misplaced Pages:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Misplaced Pages policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

The Main Building??
Am I correct here: The ref at the bottom of page to the old "The Main Building" web site is not applicable as that site is primarily devoted to architecture found only at UT Austin. ?? Buddpaul (talk) 19:41, 15 January 2008 (UTC)
.....um....well, since noone responded, I'm just going to delete it. Buddpaul (talk) 00:39, 28 January 2008 (UTC)
Update please
Isn't there anyone at UT Tyler who is capable and willing to update this wiki page occasionally? I worked up much of the page content while my son was attending UTT from 2005 to 2009, hoping that eventually somebody at UT Tyler would update things. Many of the stats are from the 2008-2009 academic year. Take a little pride in your school! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 204.58.246.49 (talk) 00:15, 22 June 2012 (UTC)
Update please, AGAIN!
Well another full year has passed and not one d#%n thing has been changed or updated here. Same old stats, same old embarrassing picture of girl wearing bump helmet in groovey peddle car. Can't one of you smart college kids figure out how to edit a simple wiki page? How about mentioning the newly approved Doctor of Pharmacy degree at UT Tyler, huh? You people spend too much time on Twitter. 204.58.246.49 (talk) 01:48, 2 August 2013 (UTC)
Update please, again, AGAIN!
You have to be kidding me -- another d@mn year has passed and no substantial updates or changes to this article, AGAIN! Does anyone at UT Tyler even know that Misplaced Pages exists, or that there is an article about UT Tyler on Misplaced Pages? Is UT Tyler so academically prestigious that no one there would deign to update this article for the sake of his school's online reputation? Shame on the faculty; shame on you kids! AND STAY OFF MY LAWN! 71.2.179.83 (talk) 07:19, 23 June 2014 (UTC)
