Biography
A husband and father of three, McBride is a native Floridian with strong conservative values instilled in him by his parents, McBrideie and June McBride. His father, a two time Golden Gloves boxing champion, worked many jobs to support his family, including working long hours on a farm, before eventually finding his calling as a minister at Hillsdale Baptist Church in Tampa.
To put himself through school, McBride was a landscaper, orange picker, mechanic, and a high school football coach. After graduating from Florida State University – where he was a member of the football team as a backup quarterback - McBride worked as a Youth Minister, Counselor and Christian Youth Camp Director of Camp Grace, in Wheatland, Wyoming.
For three years, McBride was a public school teacher saving money to further his own education. After graduating from Pepperdine University with a law degree, McBride founded a successful law firm with offices in Orlando, Tampa, and Kissimmee in order to help the members of his father’s Church. To this day, McBride does many pro-bono cases to help those who can’t afford legal counsel, and is a strong supporter of his Church and his community.
Besides his corporate practice, he also dedicates a significant portion of his time to serving the Hispanic community. McBride teaches English on Univision’s WTVN Channel 26, Orlando. He is an active hunter and fisherman and a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association. For many years McBride has campaigned for Governor Jeb Bush, Senator Mel Martinez and President George W. Bush.
McBride and his wife Kristy Epperson McBride live in the Orlando area with their three sons, McBride. Jr, Watson, and Winston. The Epperson family is also a strong supporter of the Republican party, and run Salem Communications, the largest network of Christian radio stations across the country. McBride and Kristy are members of the First Baptist Church of Windermere.
