About Addhoc

I consider the aim of this page to blather irrelevantly, without actually saying anything. Given I have significant experience in this area, at this early stage, I don't envisage significant difficulties.

The user boxes have been carefully selected not to be overly helpful in guessing anything about me. I chose the Flexible box in the same way I decide what books to have on my shelf, it was about the right size and colour. The middle userbox refers to House of Cards, the initials of which spawned by user name. The catch phrase is an inspiring example of speaking without communicating. Finally, the defcon is designed to give the impression I feel a sense of solidarity to all those hard working guys fighting vandalism. Similar to lefties wearing a stars and stripes pin in their suit.

In many articles, there is a section on Religious views. There seems to be a strong bias in WP to show the Christian view always, often divided into Roman Catholic and Protestant; followed by the Judaic view and/or Islamic view. This does not reflect world distribution.

Christianity 2,300 million 32% (dropping)
Islam 1,226 million 20% (growing)
Hinduism 828 million 13% (stable)
No religion 775 million 12% (stable)
Chinese folk rel. 390 million 6%
Buddhism 364 million 6% (stable)
Tribal Religions, Shamanism, Animism 232 million 4%

Judaism at 14.5 million is less than 1% of the world population.

Please help with correcting this bias by adding religious views as appropriate. I am not suggesting the view of any religion which is less than 1% should be removed, or not added. I am merely suggesting that the major religions of the world are poorly represented, and the information is usually presented with a bias towards American distribution. At the very least Islam and Hinduism should be presented, and preferably Buddhism also. Chinese folk religion is a group, not a single religion, and as such a single "view" is virtually impossible to find. Tribal religions is also a group.
