Events of the season come to a head with many characters heading to Limehouse. This leads to the discovery of money and to Quarles dismemberment. Elsewhere Arlo confesses to killing the Trooper and Arlo's son Raylan Givens has to deal with the possibility he meant to shoot him. Ava's character also darkens. Although she once killed a pimp to save prostitute Ellen May she now treats her with violence due to her fears.

Reception

Scott Tobias of The A.V. Club gave it an A. Seth Amitin of IGN stated it was "a little madcap for an ending" but also that it was "action-packed. It was funny. It was clever. It was even a little moving at the end." Alan Sepinwall liked how the "pieces came back into play" in it, though felt the season as a whole was not as "deep" as the previous. Fred Golan was nominated for an Edgar Allan Poe Award for Best Episode in a TV Series for the episode, but lost to Steven Moffat for the Sherlock episode "A Scandal in Belgravia".
