Coral Jeanne Smith (born on January 19, 1979 in San Francisco, California, USA) is one of the seven stars from the The Real World: Back to New York. Coral has competed in six challenges and made it to the end of five challenges in all. Because of this, she's earned a venerable reputation on the reality-competition spin-off shows of the Real World and Road Rules. Although she knows and has the ability to make it to the end of the challenges, she's only won one challenge and that was her very first challenge. She won with former enemy, but long-time friend, Mike Mizanin, as her partner. Coral can currently still be seen competing on various Real World/Road Rules Challenges in which she has a reputation for being one of the most formidable competitors because of her cunning and coercion. She is charismatic and has a way with getting people on her side whether it's to stay in the competition or gang up on certain individuals that get on her bad side. On the challenges, she's often considered to be one of the stronger negative female competitors which generally consists of Tina Barta, Veronica Portillo, Rachel Robinson, and sometimes Tonya Cooley. On each of the seasons, they seem to categorize themselves as the veterans and look down on all the newbies. Ever auspicious and incredible, Coral has an inexplicable way of being successful on many of the missions, getting rid of and outlasting everyone that gets in her way, coming back to the competition when voted into elimination rounds, and surprising everyone by making it to the finals of the game. She's had a love-hate relationship with Mike the Miz and was best friends with Nicole Jackson on the Real World 10 in 2001. Although her notoriously spiteful, rancorous, and belligerent attitudes have landed her into many feuds, they're at the same time why she's so entertaining and able to take up most of the camera time. Even though Coral has been known to be vocal, hard-hitting, and more than able to outtalk and intimidate others, she has a softer side as well. She's effective when it comes to turning over a new leaf. Towards the end of the Real World 10, she started working well at her job and quickly gained success. She also got over her fear of the water by a long shot since the Real World. Coral is also helpful and considerate. She's portrayed these qualities in her relationship with her fellow competitor and good friend, Abram Boise, as well as other cast mates. For instance, she consoled her good friend, Lori Trespicio, when she hit on Kevin Dunn only to be rejected by him on the Real World. She tried to advise Nicole to let go of her silly grudge against Malik on the Real World 10. Recently, she's given Linette reassurance in getting involved with Theo on the current Fresh Meat challenge. She stood up for her Real World cast mate, Malik Cooper, when Jisela Delgado was leading him on while at the same time making out with several guys and girls. Coral is almost always the center of attention at social gatherings as proven by her animated, amusing behavior and wisecracking remarks whenever there's a big crowd. Coral is very much a take-charge woman as she's always taking control of situations, such as when she directs and gets the ball rolling at group meetings made for voting cast mates into elimination rounds. She has always had a respect for, and a good sense of her ethnic background. Since the Real World, she has become much more of a bad girl. Coral has stated she's earned her degree in law school, but that she's really doing nothing but lying around all day waiting to be called in for challenges.

Recent Mission Entitled Fresh Meat

Coral and Evan were dominant, until they were both injured in the early going. Coral busted her knee cap and was unable to continue competing. Coral was reluctant to quit however, but had no choice as decided by program producer's. Coral and Evan, ever unstoppable, won 5 challenges in all. Most likely, them being forced out of the competition gave other team's an opportunity to win.

Personal Info

REALITY TV - It was made out that Coral had a romantic relationship with Abram Boise. On an episode of the MTV After Show, Coral makes it clear that they were never a couple but that MTV has a way of creatively editing and changing facts around for good ratings. She even made a statement that the reason she decided to host "Reality TV Secrets" was because she wasn't being jaded or edited by Bunim Murray or MTV. She says the best way to hear her directly is through the Reality TV secrets DVD. Coral has revealed that she doesn’t participate in any alliances and that the only alliance she ever has going is with cash. She says as opposed to how anything may have looked, she was only friends with Veronica and Rachel. She has stated she finds it hilarious how people talk smack in front of the camera and how they think their smack-talk isn’t going to get back to the person they were talking smack about. She thinks reality TV is a completely surreal experience and is definitely a lot of fun and financially rewarding. She's made it clear that getting on Reality TV is not a factor of luck, looks, or talent, but knowing what the casting directors want to see and giving it to them. She says if you want to be a star, get the get the DVD and watch it before you audition. She added, if you become a reality star on the challenges not to vote her behind off. Coral mentioned she didn't participate in the challenge after the beginning of 2005 because she found out about some proactive bitches already plotting and alliancing to to take her out. Who they were was never specified, however Coral did lay into Tonya Cooley at one point about it.

FRIENDS - In actuality, Coral is only good friends with Abram Boise and nothing more. She is close friends with Mike Mizanin and Veronica Portillo. She was roomates with Melissa Howard from The Real World "New Orleans." She states she doesn't get to talk to Nicole all that much and that she thinks Kevin Dunn is a dick so she never cared to keep up with him after the show and didn't.

FAVORATE CHALLENGE - Coral's favorite challenge was the Inferno. Her reasons for this were because of the location, games, and the opportunity to cuss Julie Stoffer (a girl who was bold enough to stand up to Coral even though it backfired on her) out and watch her go home early. She also stated she liked the rule where it gave someone a second chance once being voted off.

PERSONAL LIFE - Coral says an average day in her life is pretty much like everyone elses with the occasional photo shoot and being pulled over by a cop car, not for tickets, but to get a picture taken. Other than that, she says she pays her bills and goes to the movies like everyone else. Coral has attended San Francisco State University where she earned a degree in Finance. As to what she wants to do with her life, she is trying to get into the entertainment business as the show host of a television personality. Her experience with Arista Records on the Real World encouraged her. She loved the environment and all the people and felt working there was good for her future.
