Directive 2005/29/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council, known as the Unfair Commercial Practices Directive requires Member States of the European Union is concerned with maximum harmonisation of an area of law that is best described in the United Kingdom as business to consumer fair trading law.
Member States of the European Union are required by Directive 2005/29/EC to transpose the requirements of the Directive into their national statute books by no later than 12th June 2007.
