Emmerdale is a British soap opera set in a fictional Yorkshire village of the same name. Much of the action in this series is set in the village pub, The Woolpack. It has been broadcast on the ITV network since its inception in 1972. It was formerly known as Emmerdale Farm

Emmerdale was also the title of the debut album by The Cardigans.
