:Even your vague questions of "what is highly sought" (asking for some piece of software) are questionable, as they are more fishing for consumer feedback than factual answers (few precisions about the features you require); it seems you are using the reference desks as a free source of human labour for searches that you could perform yourself. People will not get mad for one, two or three of these, but after dozens and dozens, one suspects you just abuse the system out of laziness. ]] 12:07, 20 July 2016 (UTC) :Even your vague questions of "what is highly sought" (asking for some piece of software) are questionable, as they are more fishing for consumer feedback than factual answers (few precisions about the features you require); it seems you are using the reference desks as a free source of human labour for searches that you could perform yourself. This started with this edit: and this response by me: with the edit summary ''"Please don't post two sections on the same topic."'' My response was allowed under ], and posting two near-identical questions each in a separate section is annoying -- a messy table of contents makes it just slightly more difficult for those of us who volunteer to ''answer'' the questions to get our job done.

That should have been the end of it, but with this edit Russell.mo restored the two sections. Granted, he used a subsection this time, but his question was not a sub-topic, nor was there a need to add subsections because the thread was too long. I then fixed the new problem he had created (one section in the table of contents in '''bold''') and posted a warning on his talk page.. Once again, that should have been the end of it.

At this point, Russell.mo decided to pull out his flamethrower and try to start a flame war. and invited me to take it to ANI. I ignored the comment, figuring that allowing him to vent a bit on his talk page might calm him down. He vented some more, which I also ignored.

Then he went back to ], called me an idiot, and restored the double sections ''and'' the bold section heading. Then he opened up a complain on the refdesk talk page,, calling me and someone he calls "ClanPan" (I can find no user with that name, nor can I find anyone called ClanPan posting in any of the threads) idiots. With an added threat to take me to ANI.

After several editors reacted as editors normally do when someone gets aggressive and insulting, he gave the appearance of deciding to back off. Then, 14 minutes later, he called me an idiot again.

I am going to go back to ignoring him. Perhaps he will eventually get tired of shouting into an empty hall and find something else to do with his free time. --] (]) 13:39, 20 July 2016 (UTC)

July 2016

Please stop making disruptive edits, as you did at Misplaced Pages:Reference desk/Computing.

If you continue to disrupt Misplaced Pages, you may be blocked from editing. --Guy Macon (talk) 09:52, 18 July 2016 (UTC)

Guy Macon: Hello, I'm offended by your post, please review it. I'm guessing you are annoyed because, careless mistake done by you, and re-corrected by me. I'm taking this lightheartedly, re-considering your virtuous deeds (you often helped me out with my queries, that benifited me.). I don't wish to argue with you or anyone in Misplaced Pages; I'm not here to fight with Wikipedians. Since we both are in one community, I'm presuming we should be nice to each other... About this matter, you improved my post(s), I re-improved it... If you are annoyed about it and threatening me than Any other issue(s), please reside. Regards. -- Apostle (talk) 18:19, 19 July 2016 (UTC)

If User:Guy Macon says that your posts are disruptive, then the most likely reason is that your posts are disruptive. If you don't understand why he thinks that your posts are disruptive, you have two choices, which are to ask him why you think his posts are disruptive, in which case he will almost certainly explain, or you can ignore his admonition or threaten him back, which is unwise. Your own threat to take User:Guy Macon to WP:ANI is extremely unwise, and I suggest that you simply acknowledge that it was an idle threat, and abandon it. Your own post is incomprehensible. Pause and reconsider. Read the boomerang essay. If you go to WP:ANI, one of two things will happen. Either there will be a long angry exchange that ends with nothing happening, or there will be a long angry exchange that ends with you being blocked for a short to medium period of time. If you actually think that having Guy Macon blocked is one possible outcome, then you really need to pause and reconsider. He hasn't been blocked in more than ten years, and that is because he knows not to do things that get editors blocked. You would be better off to follow his example than to make idle threats against him. Pause and reconsider. Robert McClenon (talk) 02:49, 20 July 2016 (UTC)

Hey Robert McClenon thank you for being here for me Sorry, I behaved like Incredible Hulk an idiot. I won't take him to the ANI. You should know, I've always been against it, because the matter is between us all (RD Desk peeps)...
About Guy Macon, he is an idiot. You can't certify his idiocy with experience. The matter is clear in the above post, and now, he's in the wrong and he has a chance, is more than welcome to take me to the ANI...

Even your vague questions of "what is highly sought" (asking for some piece of software) are questionable, as they are more fishing for consumer feedback than factual answers (few precisions about the features you require); it seems you are using the reference desks as a free source of human labour for searches that you could perform yourself. People will not get mad for one, two or three of these, but after dozens and dozens, one suspects you just abuse the system out of laziness. Tigraan 12:07, 20 July 2016 (UTC)

This started with this edit: and this response by me: with the edit summary "Please don't post two sections on the same topic." My response was allowed under WP:TPOC, and posting two near-identical questions each in a separate section is annoying -- a messy table of contents makes it just slightly more difficult for those of us who volunteer to answer the questions to get our job done.

That should have been the end of it, but with this edit Russell.mo restored the two sections.
