James “Jim” Pallotta (born March 13, 1958) is a billionaire American businessman and entrepreneur. In 2009, Jim founded Raptor Group, a private investment company. Prior to forming Raptor, Jim served as Vice Chairman at Tudor Investment Corporation where he had responsibility for over $12B in long/short equities and pioneered Tudor's venture capital program and Tudor’s outside managers’ seeding business. Additionally, Jim is the President and Chairman of the Italian football club A.S. Roma; Co-Owner and Executive Board Member of the National Basketball Association’s Boston Celtics, and Co-Owner of top-ranked eSports franchise Fnatic.
Early Life
Jim was born in 1958 in Boston to Angela Antoinetta Di Giacomo from Canosa, Apulia and her husband James Rocko Pallotta from Roma. Along with sisters Carla and Christine Pallotta, Jim was raised in Boston’s Italian North End Neighborhood. Carla and Christine own and operate Nebo Cucina & Enoteca in Boston’s Financial District.
Jim received his B.A. at University of Massachusetts – Amherst and received his M.B.A. at Northeastern University.

Jim joined Essex Management in Boston, MA in 1987 where he would rise to Senior Vice President, Director of Research and Member of the Board of Directors.
Tudor Investment Corporation
In 1993 Jim joined Tudor Investment Corporation where he served as Vice Chairman and was responsible for Managing Tudor’s long/short U.S. equity strategy. While at Tudor, Jim grew the long/short U.S. equity from $200M to over $12B assets under management. Additionally, Jim oversaw Tudor’s growth equity and venture capital investment platform and Tudor’s external manager seeing operation which successfully seeded New York City-based Two Sigma Investments.
