9/11 In Plane Site is a documentary that analyzes the September 11, 2001 attacks and presents several 9/11 conspiracy theories. It is hosted by Dave VonKleist, who is also the host of the radio program The Power Hour.
Overview
The feature-length video discusses the events surrounding the airplane attacks on the World Trade Centers and the Pentagon on September 11, 2001. While showing photographs and video footage of the event, the host (Dave VonKleist) brings up a series of questions that he claims show anomalies concerning the attacks, which are followed up by video, photograph, or eyewitness account for reference.
The film is directed by William Lewis and produced by Dave VonKleist, who also hosts the documentary.
Controversial claims of film
The documentary raises a number of questions listed below.
Pentagon
The film asserts that a jetliner is too large to fit into the hole made in the Pentagon. The documentary claims that there should have been much more superficial damage to upper floors of the structure and damage should have been produced by the Boeing 757's wings upon impact. Furthermore it poses questions as to where the debris went after the impact, including the the two large Rolls Royce engines. Finally, the claim is made that an aluminum plane could not have penetrated the Pentagon as deeply as it did, producing a round hole, and proposes that the type of damage done to the building is best explained by a missile shot into it.
World Trade Center
The film points out what it believes to be anomalies in the crash into the World Trade Center buildings. References are made to what looks like an exterior swelling protruding from the undercarriage of Flight 175 which the film claims is reminiscent of a missile launcher, and a bright flash seen just before impact on both towers, which according to the film suggests that what crashed into the building was a twin engine U.S. military plane, rather than a commercial airliner. Additional references, based on eyewitness accounts, are also made to a number of explosions heard at lower levels of the buildings before they collapsed, which the film claims indicates that the structural collapse was a controlled demolition. Likewise, references are made to WTC7, which hosted several government agencies, including a CIA office, and allegedly came down as in a carefully planned controlled demolition. A statement from Larry Silverstein, the owner of the building, is shown in which he says "I remember getting a call from the Fire Department commander, telling me they were not sure they were gonna be able to contain the fire, and I said, 'You know, we've had such terrible loss of life, maybe the smartest thing to do is just pull it.'... Uh... And they made that decision to pull... and then we watched the building collapse." According to the film he was not referring to the pulling out of the firemen but the pulling "down" of WTC7. As this would have taken much longer to organize than the short time elapsed between the collapses of the twin towers and of WTC7, the film claims indicated the alledged demolition had been planned ahead.
Reviews
A short review in the Portland Mercury says of In Plane Site, "it features both an exceedingly annoying crackpot theorist and outlandish, unsubstantiated allegations about blurrily pixelized photos that don't really show anything.
Another review at Heraldextra.com states, "Nor does the presentation explain, if the attack planes were military, what happened to the commercial planes. It hints that they might have been shot down over the ocean. The trouble is that they weren't necessarily over the ocean. And who remembers an Atlantic crash of an airliner where debris such as luggage did not wash up all up and down the Eastern seaboard? If airliners went down in the sea, the secret could not have been kept for long. It's fine to be entertained by this stuff, even if it is a bit morbid. But let's not lose our senses."
