Please undelete the talk page

Hi Dodo. Would you please undelete Category talk:Wikipedians with red-linked categories on their user talk page‎. The talk page was being used for a purpose directly related to the RfC at Wikipedia_talk:User_categories#Request_for_comment_on_our_proposed_policy_for_users_remaining_in_redlinked_categories. Note that although the category page was deleted, the category if functional and well populated, and what to do about this is the core question of the RfC. This particular category is most definitely not populated by accident, and the membership need to be notified of the RfC seeking approval for action involving their userspace. --SmokeyJoe (talk) 13:04, 1 February 2017 (UTC)

Technical news

  • When performing some administrative actions the reason field briefly gave suggestions as text was typed. This change has since been reverted so that issues with the implementation can be addressed. (T34950)
  • Following the latest RfC concluding that Pending Changes 2 should not be used on the English Misplaced Pages, an RfC closed with consensus to remove the options for using it from the page protection interface, a change which has now been made. (T156448)
  • The Foundation has announced a new community health initiative to combat harassment. This should bring numerous improvements to tools for admins and CheckUsers in 2017.

Want to become permanent editor on Misplaced Pages

hi dodo good day i want to become permanent editor on wikipedia will you guide me the ways to become permanent with wikipedia — Preceding unsigned comment added by 217.165.84.186 (talk) 09:18, 4 February 2017 (UTC)

Then you need to stop spamming. But since all you have been doing is adding in SEO links, I see little chance for you to become a permanent editor on Misplaced Pages. -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 19:51, 4 February 2017 (UTC)

If I may, i'm gonna chime in here, This is what you want to do to become a permanent editor on wikipedia, 1. Don't do what you did to get banned, 2. Special:Createaccount I'd recommend this but its not required if you want to be a permanent editor (Unless your IP changes or if its shared) and 3. Look for what you enjoy editing in and edit there but make sure to provide a reliable source to most of what you put here on wikipedia, and 4. I'd recommend signing your posts by using this but 4 times over, or clicking the button towards the bottom of the editing page, thats pretty much all you need to know about becoming a permanent editor. Have a great day!! Wikipediauser123456 (talk) 17:46, 4 February 2017 (UTC)

User:67.248.31.226

Hello, I would like to refer you to a possible vandal IP user, I have repeatedly notified this person to correct his bad behaviors, however he seems to continue with these behaviors and since i'm not one to warn about blocking, I figured you could help out, refer to his 67.248.31.226 about this. Thanks. Have a nice day! Wikipediauser123456 (talk) 22:12, 4 February 2017 (UTC)

Replying to what you said on my talk page: He has not edited since the 3rd of february as of now, but I would now like to draw your attention to a new editor User talk:107.216.96.74, He is currently on his final warning and has continued to make troublesome contribs, I'm referring you because he may need to be blocked, his edits are normally random dating changes to TV articles, including

Why delete tailored pain scale pages?

There are tailored pain scales being developed with the head of Northwestern University's Anesthesiology department to be specific for different types of pain. Why does this get marked as spam? DigHealthEprt (talk) 05:30, 9 February 2017 (UTC)

Message from Nathan Sapala

Hi Gogo, your difinition of describing my page Nathan Sapala Werep as "inappropriate pages" does not seem matured. I did not just create for pleasure. I have wasted my time and effort in creating that page. I even explained why it should not be deleted. You seen to be arrogent and hostile. I suppose, lets understand people and work to help people.

Just deleting something that someone has spend his time creating is doing INJUSTICE. With that I wish to ask if you could please undelete the pageI created and put it back.

Hope you would understand.

God bless.— Preceding unsigned comment added by Nathan Sapala (talkcontribs)

Copyvio warning after speedy?

Hi Gogo, another NPPer hit Trust medical transportation with a G11 as I was looking up the company's website, and you canned it before I could modify the speedy to add a G12 since it was a straight copy of http://www.trustmtrans.com/about. I am unsure if it would be appropriate to warn for the copyvio since the page is already gone, and you've blocked them for WP:USERNAME. Wanted to ask you for guidance.  :) Thanks! Recreating the Koumine page

Earlier you deleted the Koumine WP page, for the A1 rapid deletion reason. There is good reason to reinstate this page.

Koumine, formula C20H22N2O2, is an indole alkaloid isolated from flowering plants of the genus Gelsemium, a plant native to the subtropical and tropical Americas, and southeast Asia. It has increasingly studied activity for potential anti-anxiolytic properties that derive from its ability, systemically, to induce muscle relaxation of varying intensity, resulting from its observed agonism of the mammalian glycine receptor, activation of which leads to an inhibitory postsynaptic potential in neurons following chloride ion influx. Despite potentially deleterious effects, recent pharmacological research has suggested that the biological activities of this compound may offer opportunities for developing treatments related to anxiety, cancer, and other conditions, with ongoing research including attempts to identify safer derivatives and analogs to make use of the compound's beneficial effects.

Koumine is an monoterpenoid type of indole alkaloid, and a close relative of the natural product gelsemine, which is also present from the same natural sources. The gelsemine class of alkaloids are some of a wide variety of the alkaloid and other natural products that have been isolated from this genus of plants.

As noted in recent review, koumine is found in, and can be isolated from, the subtropical to tropical flowering plant genus Gelsemium, family Loganiaceae, which as of 2014 included five species, where G. elegans Benth is native to China and East Asia, and G. sempervirens Ait., the type species, is native to the Americas. As these authors note:

Approximately 120 alkaloids have been isolated and identified from Gelsemium, with the predominant indole alkaloids including gelsemine, koumine…. Gelsemine is the principal active alkaloid in G. sempervirens Ait., and koumine and gelsemine are the most and second-most dominant alkaloids in G. elegans Benth. Gelsemium extract and its active alkaloids serve a variety of biological functions, including neurobiological, immunosuppressive and antitumor effects, and have traditionally been used to treat pain, neuralgia, anxiety, insomnia, asthma, respiratory ailments and cancers… In contrast to morphine, when administered intrathecally and systemically, koumine, gelsemine and gelsenicine have marked antinociception in inflammatory, neuropathic and bone cancer pains without inducing antinociceptive tolerance. Gelsemium and its active alkaloids may produce antinociception by activating the spinal α3 glycine/allopregnanolone pathway… support the clinical use of Gelsemium and suggest that its active alkaloids may be developed to treat intractable and other types of pain, preferably after chemical modification.

Koumine's biosynthesis, as of 1998, is thought to proceed from strictosidine (isovincoside), the common precursor for essentially all monoterpenoid indole alkaloids—itself deriving directly from tryptamine and mevalonic acid-derived secologanin. From strictosidine, the biosynthesis proceeds through four intermediates—including koumicine (akkuammidine), koumidine, vobasindiol, and anhydrovobasindiol, the final biosynthetic step thereafter involving anhydrovobasindiol oxidation and rearrangement. The related alkaloids gelsemine and gelsemicine also derive from this pathway .

This alone is surely enough material for a stub, and an infobox and other information can be quickly added—there are 36 more citations that I have only begun to explore, search "Koumine " at Pubmed. Can you reinstate the article, using this content, so that I can begin supporting the article? You are better positioned, historically and technical, to make this change. I am a subject matter expert, much more than a technical expert at WP. Note, 4 of the 5 citations are secondary sources, so at present, the article is better sourced per WP:VERIFY than most alkaloid articles, and the tens of pages at these reviews devoted to this specific, unique molecule—recall, in chemistry, one moved bond or added atom makes a world of difference, in patents and in practice—as well as the 37 articles with this compound in the title or abstract make clear that it is sufficiently notable.
