It offers "Academic Excellence", a "Distinctive Curriculum", "Smaller class sizes" and focuses on leadership and character development for all students aged 11-18. Opened in 2012 after the closing of Woolston High School but was set up independently by Sir Ian Hall and 'Great+ Schools' and not as a replacement from the government .
