Brazilian IP-hopping vandal
Just wanted to drop a thanks for your efforts to revert that IP-hopper who keeps providing unsourced dates of birth and changing the possibly living people category. In the extremely unlikely event that anyone gives you crap for it, feel free to send them in this direction. Cheers. Canadian Paul 18:09, 2 April 2017 (UTC)
- @Canadian Paul: - no problem. I initially thought it was just someone with good-faith edits assuming the subjects were still 100% alive. Didn't know it was a wider problem! On a related note, I've had my own IP vandals in the past. If it continues, then a rangeblock for a few weeks should help. Lugnuts 07:26, 3 April 2017 (UTC)
- Wow, yours was even worse. Thanks for the tip; I might consult a more experienced admin about the rangeblock if this persists. Canadian Paul 16:12, 3 April 2017 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Fred Berry (cricketer)
If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Fred Berry (cricketer) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Misplaced Pages. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person, a group of people, an individual animal, an organization (band, club, company, etc.), web content, or an organized event, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Misplaced Pages's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator.

Disambiguation link notification for April 7
Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Misplaced Pages appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Vihanga Kalhara, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Matara (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Still the Water
Why? A film critic of the Guardian who does not know this cultural background in Amami Ōshima misunderstood Kawase's intentions as surreal and preposterous.--Sutabo (talk) 08:59, 10 April 2017 (UTC)
Can you understand the reason why I added the explanation? The relationship between the sea and Kyoko is a problem related to the basic concept of the movie.--Sutabo (talk) 12:33, 10 April 2017 (UTC)
Discussion
Could I draw your attention to this discussion? It's gotten a bit stale and doesn't seem to be focussed on any actual policy or guidelines thus far and I'd appreciate an editor versed in the project chiming in on either side. Thanks. GRAPPLE 17:43, 10 April 2017 (UTC)
Disambiguation link notification for April 14
Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Misplaced Pages appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Deaths in March 2017, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Heart of Midlothian (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Question
Hi Would you please answer the question here? Moving relevant references provided by other people to the talk page for "future use" strikes me as somewhat bizarre. I am looking forward to your explanation. Cheers 84.73.134.206 (talk) 16:14, 15 April 2017 (UTC)

Sorry- shouldn't have mentioned boomerangs- no way it was serious enough for that- and i don't blame you for disliking the language in your original plaint- it was 'Round Two' that seemed so unnecesary. Take care! — O Fortuna 11:51, 18 April 2017 (UTC) |

Comment on Misplaced Pages:Articles for deletion/2017 Paris machete attack
Hello. I saw your comment on Misplaced Pages:Articles for deletion/2017 Paris machete attack and thought it was a good laugh, so I used it on Misplaced Pages:Articles for deletion/2017 Jerusalem Light Rail stabbing. I immediately got admonished for it because it was extremely inappropriate. To that end, I'm going to warn you not to do that either, seeing as there wasn't any warning against you for that comment. Thank you. Cyrus the Penner (talk) 00:22, 22 April 2017 (UTC)
Apologizing in advanceretrospect
Someone on ANI just admitted they plan on trolling your talk page because of something I said. Blank them if/when they post here, and just ignore it. If you wanna weigh in on ANI that's your business.
And I apologize for my initial use of the plural to imply that I thought your (grim-dark, but not outrageous) comment was on a par with his (which was grossly inappropriate). I am not familiar with the 2017 Paris machete attack, and was trying to be coy.
Hijiri 88 (聖やや) 01:18, 22 April 2017 (UTC)
- Shit. I didn't realize he had already done it. I checked his contribs, saw the most recent ANI edit had come after any user talk edits, and didn't bother checking whether the ANI I had happened to notice most recently was the same one he had made most recently.
