Unite The Right is a right-wing gathering planned for August 12th, 2017 to protest the removal of Confederate Symbols.
Notable speakers include Gavin McInnes, Tim Treadstone, Richard Spencer, Mike Enoch, and League of the South founder Michael Hill.
The rally has been the scene of criticism and expected protests from Black Lives Matter, due to white nationalists being speakers at the event.
Rally
Expected turnout is 4,000. An estimate from the Southern Poverty Law Center estimated thousands attending. The rally is to protest the removal of a statue of Robert E. Lee.
Reaction
Senator Tim Kaine stated that he hoped it would encourage dialogue, but condemned the rally. College Virginia President Teresa A. Sullivan urged students to stay away from the rally due to possible violence between the far-right and ANTIFA rioters.
