Diallang "DJ" Jaiyesimi (born 7 May 1998) is an English professional footballer of Nigerian descent, who plays as a winger but can also play as a midfielder or striker for League Two club Grimsby Town, on loan from Norwich City.

Club career

Jaiyesimi was born in Southwark, Greater London in 1998 to parents from Nigeria. Diallang (DJ) came through the ranks of the Aspire Academy having joined its ranks at the age of 14. He was captain of the Dulwich Hamlet Under 18s and also made a number of first team appearances, making his debut in the Alan Turvey Trophy victory over Thamesmead in August.

He was under the radar of a number of professional clubs, playing four times on trial with Norwich’s U18s this season, scoring against Arsenal Academy in November and featuring in victories over West Ham United Academy and Leicester City Academy. In January 2016, DJ signed 2.5 year contract with the Norwich City.

Loan to Grimsby Town

Jaiyesimi went on loan for the 2017–18 season on 9 August 2016 to League Two side Grimsby Town.

International career

Despite being born in England, Jaiyesimi was selected for Nigeria U23, Team Nigeria UK boss said: "Jaiyesimi is a Nigerian and he has been approached to play for Nigeria, he is available to play for Nigeria if called upon."

Personal life

Jaiyesimi is eligible to play for Nigeria, as he is of Nigerian descent.
