Neriene is a genus of spiders of the family Linyphiidae. It was first described in 1833 by Blackwall. As of 2017, it contains 57 species.

The genus was initially created by Blackwall without indicating a type-species, instead he described three species: Neriene marginata , Neriene rubens , and Neriene cornuta .

Etymology

The genus may have been named for Neriene, also known as Nerio, the partner of Mars in ancient Roman mythology.
