'''Semi-Protect''': This article has been deleted twice, the first time under the reason 'G11/A7' and then under 'spam'. As Rightmove has been listed on the London Stock Exchange and is a valid company, I would like it protected from random deletion and also restored, so that it doesn't have to be rebuilt a second time. If there is a valid reason for this deletion I'd be happy to accept it, but it's simply been struck-off twice with no explanation. | |||

Welcome—request protection of a page, file, or template here. | ||
---|---|---|
Shortcuts
Before requesting, read the protection policy. Full protection is used to stop edit warring between multiple users or to prevent vandalism to high-risk templates; semi-protection and pending changes are usually used to prevent IP and new user vandalism (see the rough guide to semi-protection); and move protection is used to stop pagemove revert wars. Extended confirmed protection is used where semi-protection has proved insufficient (see the rough guide to extended confirmed protection) After a page has been protected, it is listed in the page history and logs with a short rationale, and the article is listed on Special:Protectedpages. In the case of full protection due to edit warring, admins should not revert to specific versions of the page, except to get rid of obvious vandalism.

Semi-Protect: This article has been deleted twice, the first time under the reason 'G11/A7' and then under 'spam'.
Midnight Syndicate (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)
I request for full page protection of THIS dated version (just in case the "current" article is changed as I wait for this to be read... Yesterday vandals reverted 6 times while I attempted to find an admin to help. Many unsigned users are posting promotional material for this band and changing band history, removing credits of previous notable band members, and removing reference material I used in cleaning up the article, trying to tone down the promo stuff. They continually cross-link with other articles that promote them, and to online sources that are purely promotional and of no encyclopedic value. I believe it is the current members of the band themselves doing this in some attempt to discredit a past band member by the name of Vargo. So far they have engaged in deceptive editing, altering the wording of certain parts of the article to change the context, at least one defamatory statement was made by one unsigned user against Vargo, and one such statement was also posted by one Edward Douglas, who claims to be the band's representative. The "reason" they list for making such changes is given as "reverting vandalism" yet they are the ones doing the vandalising. Please read the Talk:Midnight_Syndicate for more info. Alton, Staffordshire (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)
An unregistered user keeps reverting the page to his version which, when the edit history is looked at, is seen as childish. The user reverts the page to a story about the trouble he/she experiences with tourists in the village and is not relevent. I request for a semi-protection. --Aidan Croft 13:37, 20 October 2006 (UTC)
- There is not enough recent activity to justify protection at this time. Just watchlist and revert any vandalism. WinHunter 13:54, 20 October 2006 (UTC)

There were IP vandal cases in recent days according to history log, so I fulfill a requst for semi-protection to a harmless article. --Gh87 08:47, 20 October 2006 (UTC)

We had edit wars in the past at this article and currently we have a request for mediation Instead of joining the mediation User:William Mauco started to revert the work of others. I think the page must be full protected until the dispute is solved.--MariusM 07:17, 20 October 2006 (UTC)

T. R. Knight (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)
Requesting semi-protection. His recent "coming out" statement about his homosexuality is already bringing out the vandals. Thanks! Weirdoactor 02:18, 20 October 2006 (UTC)

Full protection request. Revert war in progress due to some editors, including an admin, attempting to include defamatory information in probable violation of WP:BLP. --Aaron 20:37, 18 October 2006 (UTC)
Nintendo Nsider Forums (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)
Requesting Semi-Protection. Someone has just posted a link to the article on one of Nsider's more popular boards, and vandalism is/was recently in progress. -PsychoYoshi 22:55, 19 October 2006 (UTC)
- Declined. The invasion looks like it has finished. Sorry for the slow review of this request. -- Steel 15:53, 20 October 2006 (UTC)
Current requests for unprotection
ShortcutsBefore posting, first discuss with the protecting admin on their talk page. Post below only if you receive no reply.
- To find out the username of the admin who protected the page, click on "history" at the top of the page, then click on "View logs for this page," which is under the title of the page. The protecting admin is the username in blue before the words "protected", "changed protection level" or "pending changes". If there are a number of entries on the log page, you might find it easier to select "Protection log" or "Pending changes log" from the dropdown menu in the blue box.
- Requests to downgrade full protection to template protection on templates and modules can be directed straight here; you do not need to ask the protecting admin first.
- Requests for removing create protection on redlinked articles are generally assisted by having a draft version of the intended article prepared beforehand.
- If you want to make spelling corrections or add uncontroversial information to a protected page, please add {{Edit fully-protected}} to the article's talk page, along with an explanation of what you want to add to the page. If the talk page is protected, please use the section below.
Check the archives if you cannot find your request. Only recently answered requests are still listed here.

IP talk page has been sprotected for way too long. It is a school IP. Jesse Viviano 23:33, 19 October 2006 (UTC)
- Un-protected. It's been protected for long enough. Hopefully things have calmed down since then. WinHunter 02:00, 20 October 2006 (UTC)
Current requests for significant edits to a protected page
ShortcutIdeally, requests should be made on the article talk page rather than here.
- Unless the talk page itself is protected, you may instead add the appropriate template among
{{Edit protected}}
,{{Edit template-protected}}
,{{Edit extended-protected}}
, or{{Edit semi-protected}}
to the article's talk page if you would like to make a change rather than requesting it here. Doing so will automatically place the page in the appropriate category for the request to be reviewed. - Where requests are made due to the editor having a conflict of interest (COI; see Misplaced Pages:Suggestions for COI compliance), the
{{Edit COI}}
template should be used. - Requests to move move-protected pages should be made at Misplaced Pages:Requested moves, not here.
- If the discussion page and the article are both protected preventing you from making an edit request, this page is the right place to make that request. Please see the top of this page for instructions on how to post requests.
- This page is not for continuing or starting discussions regarding content should both an article and its discussion page be protected. Please make a request only if you have a specific edit you wish to make.
Fulfilled/denied requests
MapleStory (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)
Un-protecting this article was a mistake. The anonymous vandals have returned and are constantly attacking the article. Dspider0 has violated 3RR. I counted 13 vandal edits in the past 24 hours. Please restore semi-protection. The talk page suggests several regular contributors are trying to improve it to GA status, so please be careful when lifting semi-protection. --J.L.W.S. Everton F.C. (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)
For the past two to three days, this article has been constantly attacked by anonymous vandals, most of which are apparently supporters of rival club Liverpool F.C.. With 7 vandal edits in the past 60 minutes, the vandalism is getting out of control. Having made 3 reverts during this period, I can't guard the article any longer. Please semi-protect the article, or others will have to spend lots of time reverting vandalism. --J.L.W.S. The Special One 03:01, 20 October 2006 (UTC)

Request to move from semi-protection to full protection because many people, including Misplaced Pages users, vandalize a biographical article with their hatred towards this person. Or maybe Misplaced Pages users dare to vandalize without reason. --Gh87 20:54, 19 October 2006 (UTC)
