Vikram Rai is the son of Anuradha Rai and ], who is the Secretary, Financial Sector, in the Government of India. He is a citizen of India and has green card status in the United States.

Rai received his Master of Science in Computer Science from Syracuse University, NY and his Bachelor of Engineering in Civil Engineering from Birla Institute of Technology, Ranchi, India.
He is a 2007 MBA candidate at ] and is majoring in Analytic Finance and Economics.

Prior to employment with ], Rai held engineering positions at ] and ] (formerly Tata Infotech).
