The site covers many different sections, each of which has its own colour scheme of 'technology world' including:

  • Main (Blue) - is on current events as pertaining to Microsoft, Intel, AMD, and other PC hardware and software manufacturers.
  • Software (Green) - chronicles mostly Windows shareware and freeware, including any updates or beta releases.
  • Gamers (Grey) - news on both PC and console gaming, such as new releases and console hardware.

Neowin was started as a hobby in October 2000. One of Neowin's claims to fame is being the subject of the most viewedstory on slashdot ever.
