The outlawed group has been using China for shelter following mounting pressure from both Burma and Bangladesh, in turn pressured by India. The outfit’s top commander, Paresh Baruah, is living near the Sino-Burmese border looking for an alternative position for a hideout. There are 50 ULFA militants holed up in China’s ] led by the group's Lt. The article contains a section about alleged ties of Turkey helping funnel Uyghurs of Turkistan Islamic Party to Syria to fight Bashar al-Assad's forces. In opposition to it, it includes a statement that says "Conversely, other reports emphasized on the Uyghur fighters' ties with ISIL". This statement should be removed. |
I don't understand why ties of ISIL with Uyghur fighters are included. Do the reports claim all Uyghurs are tied to ISIS or ISIS and not Turkey is helping funnel them? |
Uyghurs are an ethnic group so they can be join any rebel group. ISIS is not the only group in Syria and Turkistan Islamic Party, which is a differernt group, is not allied with the Islamic State group. |

So some Uyghurs being members of one group or other shouldn't be used to counter claims that Turkey is helping transport then across border. I don't see anywhere the original sources even meant such an idea. Please remove the statement. ] (]) 23:59, 29 March 2020 (UTC) |
