History
The village was captured by Armenian forces during the Nagorno-Karabakh war and was administrated as part of the Hadrut Province of the self-proclaimed Republic of Artsakh. The village had an Armenian majority prior to its recapture by Azerbaijan on 16 October 2020 during the 2020 Nagorno-Karabakh war.
