My last three edits

If you click on contributions on the right side of my signature, three of the last four edits (as I write this) changed redirects for which you were the last to edit. Is there any reason you might object?— Vchimpanzee • talk • contributions • 20:44, 6 December 2020 (UTC)

No, they make good sense, thanks. Beyond My Ken (talk) 21:20, 6 December 2020 (UTC)
Good. As I typed in the search box the name of the church followed by New York City came up so I assumed there was a disambiguation page. I ended up on a list and thought the church didn't have an article, and I assume that's what you thought way back then. It was so sad to see that beautiful building like that but even worse was the photo of it burning I just now saw in another newspaper.— Vchimpanzee • talk • contributions • 22:02, 6 December 2020 (UTC)

Middle Collegiate Church

Please be mindful of WP:3RR. the three-revert rule, and also wished to bring to your attention the links here indicating that all three daily newspapers in New York state that the church was gutted, not just "significantly damaged." If you differ, please discuss at the Talk page. Thank you. Figureofnine (talkcontribs) 04:52, 7 December 2020 (UTC)

Yes, I see now that the Times doesn't say "gutted" in its own voice, but quotes a senior minister, and the article properly says that. Beyond My Ken (talk) 04:55, 7 December 2020 (UTC)

Copyright investigation

I agree I have to wait, but is there any thing that can speed up the investigation or does it depend on the will of the admin or checker..and lastly will it take about a year?.ꯂꯨꯋꯥꯡ (ꯆꯥ) 10:36, 10 December 2020 (UTC)

New Page Patrol December Newsletter

Hello Beyond My Ken,

A chart of the 2020 New Page Patrol Queue

Year in review

It has been a productive year for New Page Patrol as we've roughly cut the size of the New Page Patrol queue in half this year. We have been fortunate to have a lot of great work done by Rosguill who was the reviewer of the most pages and redirects this past year. Thanks and credit go to JTtheOG and Onel5969 who join Rosguill in repeating in the top 10 from last year. Thanks to John B123, Hughesdarren, and Mccapra who all got the NPR permission this year and joined the top 10. Also new to the top ten is DannyS712 bot III, programmed by DannyS712 which has helped to dramatically reduce the number of redirects that have needed human patrolling by patrolling certain types of redirects (e.g. for differences in accents) and by also patrolling editors who are on on the redirect whitelist.

Reviewer of the Year

John B123 has been named reviewer of the year for 2020. John has held the permission for just over 6 months and in that time has helped cut into the queue by reviewing more than 18,000 articles. His talk page shows his efforts to communicate with users, upholding NPP's goal of nurturing new users and quality over quantity.

NPP Technical Achievement Award

As a special recognition and thank you DannyS712 has been awarded the first NPP Technical Achievement Award. His work programming the bot has helped us patrol redirects tremendously - more than 60,000 redirects this past year. This has been a large contribution to New Page Patrol and definitely is worthy of recognition.

Are you trying to scare me away from publishing researched information?

Please provide specific examples, data analysis, unbiased conclusions and then proceed with polite warnings, never with threats. Understood? I just hope you're OK otherwise. Truly yours Space Veteran (talk) 04:07, 11 December 2020 (UTC)

Read WP:COMMONNAME. Beyond My Ken (talk) 05:14, 11 December 2020 (UTC)
I read it many times. What's your (unbiased) conclusion? Space Veteran (talk) 05:34, 11 December 2020 (UTC)
Czech Republic is the COMMONNAME. Beyond My Ken (talk) 05:36, 11 December 2020 (UTC)
Why are you YELLING at me? Is that supposed to be more convincing? Explain your changes in a civil way like I earlier instructed you to do and stop trolling around. Space Veteran (talk) 11:38, 11 December 2020 (UTC)
Erm, WP:COMMONNAME is just the shortcut. No yelling there. Robby.is.on (talk) 14:24, 11 December 2020 (UTC)
Really? Gee, I thought that "WP:COMMONNAME" was a shortcut and "COMMONNAME" in BMK's sentence: "Czech Republic" is the COMMONNAME" was plain yelling. Probably because there was no square brackets used in shortcuts.Space Veteran (talk) 15:22, 11 December 2020 (UTC)
You're not being yelled at, it's a local Misplaced Pages convention for policy shortcuts, brackets or no brackets. Please assume good faith. Acroterion (talk) 15:43, 11 December 2020 (UTC)

Inquiry

Beyond My Ken (talk · contribs) why did you reverted my edits? भारत का प्रतिहार (talk) 04:42, 21 December 2020 (UTC)

Xerxes, Goddess of Rubber Fetishwear

Pertaining to https://en.wikipedia.org/Arno_Breker I do not understand why you have reverted my edit on this page, I am simply moving a misplaced template to the top of the page as per the MOS, which seems clear that refimproove template be placed under hatnotes at the top of a page. My comment on the talk page seems to have gone unoticed.

Perhaps I am mistaken in some way, but I struggle to understand why you have persistently reverted the edit. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 121.215.211.116 (talk) 00:10, 23 December 2020 (UTC)

(1) MOS is not mandatory. (2) What was "unhelpful" was your moving it from where it woud do the most good, where people who work on referencing will see it, but it won't get in the way of the vast majority of our readers. (3) Try not to edit robotically, we're editors, not mechanical devices, we get to use our brains and judgment as to what will improve Misplaced Pages and serve our readers. (4) Please sign your comments. Beyond My Ken (talk) 05:11, 23 December 2020 (UTC)
The MOS is the standard editors stick too unless there is a compelling reason why we shouldn't, it was decided by consensus that the template go at the top of the article and precede content so readers would be aware they were about to read was poorly sourced or unsourced- as much of this article is. This is not "editing robotically", I am just following the MOS.
My judgement tells me to follow the MOS and not to accept these kind of reverts. 121.215.211.116 (talk) 05:24, 23 December 2020 (UTC)
You and your six edits, huh? Forgive me if I don't really care what your judgment tells you. Don't post here again. Beyond My Ken (talk) 05:27, 23 December 2020 (UTC)
