Abdülkadir Topkaç (1954; Sur, Diyarbakır - February 21, 2021; Dicle, Diyarbakır) is a Turkish astronomer who proved curveous movement of the Moon in Earth's orbit.
Story
Topkaç was born in Diyarbakır in 1954. Topkaç was a primary school graduate, he was a simit maestro. In fact, Topkaç has been interested in astronomy since his youth, started his serious studies in 1991 when he started to observe the movements of the Moon with binoculars. Topkaç bought his first telescope for $2500 in Istanbul at 1992. The telescope he bought was from the Soviet Union, which was destroyed by the PKK. Upon this, as a result of an aid campaign organized on social media, a telescope worth ₺16K was bought to Topkaç.
Studies
Achieving the moon's viewing angle for one month in 1992, Topkaç observed that the moon moved in the form of an arc. Topkaç received the address of NASA from tourists, so sent his works to NASA and TUBITAK National Observatory.
Personal Life
His wife and 8 children dumped Topkaç in 2001, claiming he is mad.
Death
Topkaç was treated for cancer at Dicle University Oncology Hospital and died on February 21, 2021. His funeral was buried in Diyarbakır.
