Jimmy McMenemy (b. Rutherglen, Lanarkshire, 23 August 1880 - 1965) was a Celtic F.C. football player from 1902 to 1920. He made 515 appearances and scored 168 goals.
He was part of the famous Celtic team that won six league titles in a row between 1904 and 1910, and was part of the team that defeated Rangers 3-2 in the 1904 Scottish Cup Final after being down 2-0.
Nicknamed Napoleon, he played 12 times for Scotland, scoring 5 goals.
In 1920, McMenemy left Celtic and joined Partick Thistle, and in April 1921 helped Thistle to their one and only Scottish Cup victory, beating Rangers 1-0.
Jimmy won seven Scottish Cup medals – 1904, 1907, 1908, 1911, 1912, 1914 and 1921.
In 1934, he was invited back to Parkhead as trainer and Assistant Manager to Willie Maley.
His son John won a Scottish Cup medal for Celtic in 1927, and son Harry played for Newcastle United.
Lawrie McMenemy, the former Manager of Southampton and many other teams, is the great-nephew of McMenemy.
