Gyunduz Aidynovych Mamedov (Template:Lang-az, Ukrainian: Гюндуз Айдинович Мамедов; born 26 October 1974 in Ganja, Azerbaijan) is a Ukrainian lawyer, Candidate of Juridical Sciences. Deputy Prosecutor General of Ukraine since 18 October 2019.

Education

In 1996, he graduated from the Odessa State University named after I.I. Mechnikov, with a degree in law. In 2013, he graduated from the Odessa National University of Economics.

Career

He began his career in 1996 in the prosecution authorities of Ukraine. He worked as the Assistant Prosecutor in the Prosecutor's Office of the Primorsky district of Odessa city, and then became the First Deputy Prosecutor of the district.

From 2012 till 2013, he worked in the Prosecutor's Office of the Kyiv region. During 2013, he served as the Chief Scientific Officer of the Crime Fighting Problems Research Department in the Scientific and Research Institute of the National Prosecution Academy of Ukraine.

From December 2013 to July 2014, he held the position of the Head of the Investigation Department of the Dnipro Environmental Prosecutor's Office.

In July 2014, he was appointed a Prosecutor in Odessa.

From December 2015, Mamedov worked as the Deputy Prosecutor of the Odessa region. While working in Odessa he was engaged in high-profile affairs, in particular, to stop the distribution of narcotic substances in law enforcement agencies, expose corruption schemes and gambling, arrest a criminal group that carried out robberies, extortion and other actions for two years.

He then was appointed the Prosecutor of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea in 22 August 2016.

On 31 March 2017, a new office of the Prosecutor's Office of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea was opened with the participation of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine Yuriy Lutsenko.

During the work as a prosecutor of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea the directions of law enforcement bodies activity of the Autonomy in the territory of mainland Ukraine were determined, the work with the International Criminal Court was organized, cooperation with the non-governmental organisations was established, the methods of investigation of criminal proceedings against national security and war crimes were developed, because there was almost no investigative and judicial practice in these categories of cases until the year 2014. The foregoing was reflected in the Strategy for the Development of Activities of the Prosecutor's Office of the ARC in the conditions of temporary occupation for 2019-2021.
