Welcome—request protection of a page, file, or template here. | ||
---|---|---|
Shortcuts
Before requesting, read the protection policy. Full protection is used to stop edit warring between multiple users or to prevent vandalism to high-risk templates; semi-protection and pending changes are usually used to prevent IP and new user vandalism (see the rough guide to semi-protection); and move protection is used to stop pagemove revert wars. Extended confirmed protection is used where semi-protection has proved insufficient (see the rough guide to extended confirmed protection) After a page has been protected, it is listed in the page history and logs with a short rationale, and the article is listed on Special:Protectedpages. In the case of full protection due to edit warring, admins should not revert to specific versions of the page, except to get rid of obvious vandalism.

Tornado (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)
Semi-protect. Always a subject of occassional vandalism, but these past few weeks have been exceptionally bad, with up to 10 anon vandal edits a day. A bunch have gone uncorrected for hours just because of their shear volume. It would greatly help, as we hope to list it at WP:FAC soon and dealing with so much vandalism is just a waste of time. 1948 Arab-Israeli War (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)
Semi-protect. All of the edits in the last few days have been anonymous, and POV-pushing, unsourced controversial claims, or ignoring a consensus hashed out on the talk page. Eleland 16:17, 26 January 2007 (UTC)
System of a Down (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)
Semi-protect. Increasing vandalism from multiply IP vandalism in the recent week, which includes plenty of POV additions and unsourced changes of genre. Michaelas10 (Talk) 16:06, 26 January 2007 (UTC)
Computer (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)
Semi-protect. Steady and increasing level of IP vandalism over the last few days, with no constructive edits by IPs or new users. I think it's time to consider semi-protecting the article again. Kubigula (talk) 15:36, 26 January 2007 (UTC)
Denial of the Armenian Genocide (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)
Full protection - edit war. Nareklm 15:13, 26 January 2007 (UTC)
- Fully protected due to revert warring. Nishkid64 15:15, 26 January 2007 (UTC)
Bishop Feehan High School (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)
Semi-protection requested - repeated vandalism from different IP accounts, apparently over a dispute about alleged sacking of teachers in school.Rbreen 10:31, 26 January 2007 (UTC)
- Semi-protected for two weeks. -- Steel 13:49, 26 January 2007 (UTC)
Misplaced Pages:Avoid instruction creep (edit | talk | history | links | watch | logs)
Request full protection over a WP:LAME tag war. One user has decided that this rather old page is actually a new proposal, for reasons he has so far declined to explain. 09:40, 26 January 2007 (UTC) (updated tag in subsection header; specified "full" protection 12:53, 26 January 2007 (UTC))
Muzzy (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)
semi-protect. High level of IP vandalism, because of the second "muslim" meaning of this word. Yuriy Lapitskiy 08:57, 26 January 2007 (UTC)
- Declined – Not enough recent disruptive activity to justify protection. -- Steel 13:49, 26 January 2007 (UTC)
Nicole Kidman (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)
Semi-protection, repeated IP vandalism substituting disparaging image into article. --Steve (Slf67) 08:38, 26 January 2007 (UTC)
Mammed Amin Rasulzade (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)
Full protection - edit war. Nareklm 04:58, 26 January 2007 (UTC)
Marathon (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)
semi-protect. Multiple IP's are reverted/deleting one photo saying it is a napalm photo when it is clearly used in the 1896 marathon olympics article. This has been happening for about 7 days now. 75px keeps getting deleted or reverted back to 75px and the response given is it's a napalm/Vietnam picture. Clearly the second one is the Napalm photo. Only random IP address are changing the photos back and forth and/or deleting it from the page. --DJREJECTED 03:52, 26 January 2007 (UTC)
- Semi-protected for one week. --Coredesat 04:23, 26 January 2007 (UTC)
9/11 conspiracy theories (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views), and others
Full-protect - An editing dispute about inclusion of templates risks spilling over into mainstream articles. Several pages are involved, mostly those on Template:911ct and Template:911tm. Tom Harrison 03:15, 26 January 2007 (UTC)
- Fully protected due to edit warring. --Coredesat 04:26, 26 January 2007 (UTC)
Kelly Clarkson (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)
semi-protect. Lately it's been getting vandalized a few times a day, even Misplaced Pages guidelines on the page. Anthony Rupert 02:44, 26 January 2007 (UTC)
- Semi-protected due to high levels of vandalism. --Coredesat 04:27, 26 January 2007 (UTC)
Ted Kennedy (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)
Semi-protection per current vandalism with anons. -- Wikipedical 02:35, 26 January 2007 (UTC)
- Declined – Not enough recent disruptive activity to justify protection. -- Steel 13:57, 26 January 2007 (UTC)
Sonic the Hedgehog (TV series) (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)
Semi protection: This article is repeatedly vandalised, article sections are deleted, others are changed, facts are removed... all by IP users. It's been going on ever since a movie based on this series was announced, possibly by people who don't want to believe it, or who don't want others to learn of it.
It used to see maybe 1 vandalism per month, now it's 2-3 PER DAY. Repeatedly from the same user, and repeatedly from OTHER users.
I'm just getting tired of constantly fighting a losing battle with this. I grew up watching this series, and i love it, so i'm very annoyed by vandals hacking this article to bits. The IP addresses vandalising this page are as follows:
- 75.51.231.149 -- 4 times
- 71.202.157.86 -- 3 times
- 68.217.180.20 -- 1 time
Note: The user at IP 156.34.187.103 contributes legitimate information and spelling/coding/formatting corrections. That user should not be punished...
RingtailedFox • Talk • Stalk 02:24, 26 January 2007 (UTC)
- Declined. I think my edit should have solved this problem. -- Steel 13:57, 26 January 2007 (UTC)
Erection (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)
Semi protection -- Unsurprisingly, this sexually related article gets a rise out of the anonymous kiddie vandals. -- KelleyCook 01:27, 26 January 2007 (UTC)
- There is not enough recent activity to justify protection at this time. Just watchlist and revert any vandalism. Nishkid64 01:37, 26 January 2007 (UTC)
Pan-Africanism (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)
Semi protection - vandal keeps coming back, i keep making this request and the vandal doesnt stop his/her political POV. Not many people watch this article and the vandalism goes unchecked, all the vandalism comes from an editor in Canada, probably using internet cafes as the ip changes slightly everytime--HalaTruth(ሀላካሕ) 01:07, 26 January 2007 (UTC)
- There is not enough recent activity to justify protection at this time. Just watchlist and revert any vandalism. Nishkid64 01:38, 26 January 2007 (UTC)
Wii (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)
Semi protection - Heavy vandalism 00:55, 26 January 2007 (UTC)
- The page was just unprotected 2 days ago, so lets see if it'll maybe get better in a day or two. Or else we'll file this one under "needing long term protection" too. -Royalguard11(Talk·Desk·Review Me!) 01:16, 26 January 2007 (UTC)
Olivia Munn (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)
Semi protection - Heavy vandalism, due to being live on the air and talking about Misplaced Pages, trying to revert the article is becoming difficult. AcePuppy 00:28, 26 January 2007 (UTC)
- Semi-protected due to heavy vandalism. Nishkid64 00:45, 26 January 2007 (UTC)
Kevin Pereira (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)
Semi protection - heavy vandalism making reversion to a reasonable version of the article difficult. Random Passer-by 00:20, 26 January 2007 (UTC)
- Page protected by Delirium. Nishkid64 00:53, 26 January 2007 (UTC)
Botany (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)
unprotect. This was protected over two months ago for vandalism, but semi-protection for vandalism should not be permanent. Two months is more than sufficient isn't it? Jecowa 00:06, 26 January 2007 (UTC)
- Un-protected. It's been protected for long enough. Hopefully things have calmed down since then. Make sure the request is in the right section next time though. -Royalguard11(Talk·Desk·Review Me!) 01:12, 26 January 2007 (UTC)
The Dreamstone (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)
Semi protection - persistent anonymous IP vandalism from various IP addresses, that seem intent on replacing the entire page after the introduction with nonsense. --Stevefarrell 23:43, 25 January 2007 (UTC)
- Semi-protected for one week. --Coredesat 04:29, 26 January 2007 (UTC)
Shetland pony (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)
Semi protection or block anonymous IP. Repeated hits today. Montanabw 22:19, 25 January 2007 (UTC)
- There is not enough recent activity to justify protection at this time. Just watchlist and revert any vandalism. Nishkid64 00:32, 26 January 2007 (UTC)
Current requests for unprotection
ShortcutsBefore posting, first discuss with the protecting admin on their talk page. Post below only if you receive no reply.
- To find out the username of the admin who protected the page, click on "history" at the top of the page, then click on "View logs for this page," which is under the title of the page. The protecting admin is the username in blue before the words "protected", "changed protection level" or "pending changes". If there are a number of entries on the log page, you might find it easier to select "Protection log" or "Pending changes log" from the dropdown menu in the blue box.
- Requests to downgrade full protection to template protection on templates and modules can be directed straight here; you do not need to ask the protecting admin first.
- Requests for removing create protection on redlinked articles are generally assisted by having a draft version of the intended article prepared beforehand.
- If you want to make spelling corrections or add uncontroversial information to a protected page, please add {{Edit fully-protected}} to the article's talk page, along with an explanation of what you want to add to the page. If the talk page is protected, please use the section below.
Check the archives if you cannot find your request. Only recently answered requests are still listed here.

White people (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)
A RfC has been started for disputes and the discussion is cooler now. I dont think anyone will change disputed part before the results of RfC. Request switching to semi-protection from full protection...Lukas19 23:48, 25 January 2007 (UTC)
- Not unprotected. Oh, I'm sure they will. Unprotection will draw people's attention back to the article when it ought to be on the talk page. -- Steel 14:01, 26 January 2007 (UTC)
Anti-Judaism (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)
The only editors willing to discuss the issue of this page's existence have come to agreement that anti-Judaism is the more accurate terminology. -- Kendrick7 22:41, 25 January 2007 (UTC)

PlayStation 3 (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)
I think opening this article up would allow for more improvement. The page has not been vandalized recently, and the article needs work. --gatoatigrado 17:34, 25 January 2007 (UTC)
- Declined . -- Steel 17:47, 25 January 2007 (UTC)
Current requests for significant edits to a protected page
ShortcutIdeally, requests should be made on the article talk page rather than here.
- Unless the talk page itself is protected, you may instead add the appropriate template among
{{Edit protected}}
,{{Edit template-protected}}
,{{Edit extended-protected}}
, or{{Edit semi-protected}}
to the article's talk page if you would like to make a change rather than requesting it here. Doing so will automatically place the page in the appropriate category for the request to be reviewed. - Where requests are made due to the editor having a conflict of interest (COI; see Misplaced Pages:Suggestions for COI compliance), the
{{Edit COI}}
template should be used. - Requests to move move-protected pages should be made at Misplaced Pages:Requested moves, not here.
- If the discussion page and the article are both protected preventing you from making an edit request, this page is the right place to make that request. Please see the top of this page for instructions on how to post requests.
- This page is not for continuing or starting discussions regarding content should both an article and its discussion page be protected. Please make a request only if you have a specific edit you wish to make.

The current thing says that the block will be lifted on December 1, 2006, but the user page says that it will be lifted on December 10, 2007. Please fix for consistency. Hbdragon88 02:01, 26 January 2007 (UTC)
