Welcome!

Hello, Jetwave Dave, and welcome to Misplaced Pages! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you need help, check out Misplaced Pages:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or place {{helpme}} on your talk page and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Again, welcome!  Megapixie 22:39, 28 November 2006 (UTC)

Ripper Gun

I've added the "{{prod}}" template to the article Ripper Gun, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but I don't believe it satisfies Misplaced Pages's criteria for inclusion, and I've explained why in the deletion notice (see also "What Misplaced Pages is not" and Misplaced Pages's deletion policy). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Misplaced Pages, or, if you disagree with the notice, discuss the issues at Talk:Ripper Gun. You may remove the deletion notice, and the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached, or if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria. F-19 Specter

I saw you just made the page F-19 Specter, however there are no references. To keep this article in wikipedia we need some references (see WP:V for datails). It would be great if you could supply them! Thanks, Inner Earth 19:52, 2 December 2006 (UTC)

British Commonwealth Units

You recently created the category British Commonwealth Forces, and I am not sure that this a useful or neccessary axis for categorization. I have asked for comments at WP:MILHIST, and you can contribute to that discussion here, or you can comment on my talk page. I am interested to know what you believe the usefulness of this category to be, as I cannot see any myself. Carom 23:20, 3 December 2006 (UTC)

I agree. All the articles in this category are better classified through their national militaries as the Commonwealth is in no way a military alliance, much less a unified military command. Also, the Commonwealth is now known as the Commonwealth of Nations. --Nick Dowling 07:09, 4 December 2006 (UTC)

Walts

I've added the "{{prod}}" template to the article Walts, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but I don't believe it satisfies Misplaced Pages's criteria for inclusion, and I've explained why in the deletion notice (see also "What Misplaced Pages is not" and Misplaced Pages's deletion policy). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Misplaced Pages, or, if you disagree with the notice, discuss the issues at Talk:Walts. You may remove the deletion notice, and the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached, or if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria. -- John Broughton | Talk 21:53, 12 December 2006 (UTC)

Smeat has also been proposed for deletion. NickelShoe (Talk) 06:45, 15 December 2006 (UTC)

Bonney Eberndu

Hello, and welcome to Misplaced Pages. We appreciate your contributions to the Bonney Eberndu article, but for legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted.

Feel free to re-submit a new version of the article. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Misplaced Pages to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must include on the external site the statement "I, (name), am the author of this article, (article name), and I release its content under the terms of the GNU Free Documentation License, Version 1.2 and later."

You might want to look at Misplaced Pages's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here. You can also leave a message on my talk page. NickelShoe (Talk) 02:00, 21 December 2006 (UTC)

Walts

Please do not re-create articles which have been deleted without significantly improving them. I am again going to propose this article for deletion, because you have (a) failed to respond to points made above (which I also noted on the article's talk page, two days ago; you've not responded to that, too) and (b) you've failed to provide anything in the article meeting WP:RS (the two links in the article are to forums, which is unacceptable; see WP:EL as well.

Please read WP:NOR and comply with that. If you want to add a term to a dictionary, see wikt:Main Page or Urban Dictionary. Thanks. John Broughton | 16:45, 15 January 2007 (UTC)

IM Arms and related

Please do not create extremely short articles without sufficient context. If they don't include sufficient information for the reader, they may be deleted. If not enough information is available for a longer article, you'd probably be better off merging the pages. Night Gyr (talk/Oy) 11:29, 19 January 2007 (UTC)

License tagging for Image:Sturmgewehr 57 Chile.JPG

Thanks for uploading Image:Sturmgewehr 57 Chile.JPG. Misplaced Pages gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Misplaced Pages, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Misplaced Pages:Media copyright questions. 15:11, 31 January 2007 (UTC)

Image copyright problem with Image:FN38.JPG

Thank you for uploading Image:FN38.JPG. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Misplaced Pages takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Megapixie 04:25, 1 February 2007 (UTC)

Other images with problems

All of the images you've uploaded also have problems - i.e. no license. You appear to have found all of them by searching using google. Our image upload page makes it very clear that:

Please note: Most images on the internet are copyrighted under terms intended to prevent them from being freely used on other sites, making it inappropriate and/or illegal to upload them to Misplaced Pages.

I will tag all of these images to have them deleted. Please review our Image use policy before uploading any more images.
