Dhammapada

The Dhammapada is of minor importance. Please don't dump copy-pasted text as you like in articles, but take care of the structure of articles, WP:LEAD, and EWP:UNDUE. Thanks. Joshua Jonathan -Let's talk! 11:13, 6 June 2018 (UTC)

"The Dhammapada is of minor importance" . As a Buddhist in India; and having read many Buddhist scriptures and reference sources of Buddhism, I can say that The Dhammapada is considered to be one of the most read Buddhist scripture in India, Nepal & Sri lanka. It contains the all the core "Eternal laws" of Theraveda Buddhism, with original text available in Pali and translated text in English through the SriLanka project. I would argue that it is of high importance and I provide a source, and would provide more references for the same if needed.

Thanks for reading. Please let me know if you disagree giving your argument and sources. Thanks again Rajiv.dhy (talk) 13:25, 11 June 2018 (UTC) Rajivdhy

Important Notice

This is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date.

You have shown interest in India, Pakistan, and Afghanistan. Due to past disruption in this topic area, a more stringent set of rules called discretionary sanctions is in effect. Any administrator may impose sanctions on editors who do not strictly follow Misplaced Pages's policies, or the page-specific restrictions, when making edits related to the topic.

For additional information, please see the guidance on discretionary sanctions and the Arbitration Committee's decision here. If you have any questions, or any doubts regarding what edits are appropriate, you are welcome to discuss them with me or any other editor.

New message from DBigXray

Hello, Jhy.rjwk. You have new messages at Talk:Citizenship_(Amendment)_Act,_2019#Background.

January 2020

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Citizenship (Amendment) Act, 2019; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Points to note:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes and work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. DBigXrayᗙ 13:49, 4 January 2020 (UTC)

A cup of tea for you!

Thank you for agreeing to self revert and avoid an edit war. This is already being discussed in the talk page. You are welcome to share your opinion on the talk page to help get WP:CONSENSUS DBigXrayᗙ 14:00, 4 January 2020 (UTC)

Indian Government Response on CAA missing even though a section of that name is there in article of CAA 2019

Hi. I have noted that you had edited the CAA 2019 Wiki article and tried to put the official Government Response on NRC. It was objected saying that the article was on CAA. I would like to bring to your notice that Indian Government has also given official response on FAQs on CAA as well.

Please see these examples -

1. https://www.livemint.com/news/india/citizenship-amendment-act-govt-busts-myths-11576477654256.html

2. https://www.sentinelassam.com/top-headlines/government-clarifies-as-citizenship-amendment-act-stir-intensifies-across-the-country/

3. https://www.outlookindia.com/newsscroll/government-clarifies-as-caa-stir-intensifies-across-india/1689279

I had tried to insert that but my edit was reverted without saying it proper reason.

I have raised this issue here - https://en.wikipedia.org/Wikipedia:Reliable_sources/Noticeboard#Are_references_of_Modi_response_on_his_personal_platform_violating_ContextMatters_for_section_%22Indian_Government_response%22_of_Citizenship_Amendment_Act_2019_?

Request your comment there. Kmoksha (talk) 23:04, 4 January 2020 (UTC)

Information icon Please do not add commentary, your own point of view, or your own personal analysis to Misplaced Pages articles, as you did to Vinayak Damodar Savarkar Deendayal Upadhyaya . Doing so violates Misplaced Pages's neutral point of view policy and breaches the formal tone expected in an encyclopedia. Thank you. DBigXrayᗙ 12:13, 16 February 2020 (UTC)

Hi DBigXrayᗙ I always try to follow the Wiki guidelines of neutrality and quote from Reliable Sources, avoiding personal opinions. I have not made any edits on the said page of Vinayak Damodar Savarkar till date. I think this Warning message is probably misdirected at me. Please route this message to the concerned user. Thank you Rajiv.dhy (talk) 10:41, 17 February 2020 (UTC)Rajiv.dhy

I was referring to Deendayal Upadhyaya. Sorry for causing the confusion. The language you used was appreciative of the subject and not neutral, hence I had posted the message. so that you can familiarize yourself with WP:NPOV--DBigXrayᗙ 10:46, 17 February 2020 (UTC)

Hi DBigXrayᗙ Okay, thanks for the feedback. I will take note of it, and agree that I probably need to put quotes on such remarks as I was quoting verbatim from the source, which had appreciative language, and it was not my opinion. But, I agree that we need to be more careful about neutrality. Thanks again. Rajiv.dhy (talk) 11:00, 17 February 2020 (UTC) Rajiv.dhy

Thanks for understanding. IMHO It is better not to use such sources who are utterly biased in their coverage of the subject, as you cannot reach the goal of building a neutral encyclopedia with such sources. India Today is reliable, but they say they are sourcing the information to unnamed RSS books. So there is no guarantee of factual accuracy in this source either. Accordingly this is a poor source. --DBigXrayᗙ 11:07, 17 February 2020 (UTC)

Hi DBigXrayᗙ Sure, I agree with you. I have made some changes to make the language neutral in the Early Life section. Thanks for bringing notice to me, and helping me improve my contributions. Thanks again Rajiv.dhy (talk) 11:12, 17 February 2020 (UTC) Rajiv.dhy

You are welcome. Please also see WP:INDENT and follow while using the talk page. regards. --DBigXrayᗙ 11:19, 17 February 2020 (UTC)

August 2020

Information icon Hello, and welcome to Misplaced Pages. You appear to be repeatedly reverting or undoing other editors' contributions at Shaheen Bagh Protests. Although this may seem necessary to protect your preferred version of a page, on Misplaced Pages this is known as "edit warring" and is usually seen as obstructing the normal editing process, as it often creates animosity between editors. Instead of reverting, please discuss the situation with the editor(s) involved and try to reach a consensus on the talk page.

If editors continue to revert to their preferred version they are likely to lose their editing privileges. This isn't done to punish an editor, but to prevent the disruption caused by edit warring. In particular, editors should be aware of the three-revert rule, which says that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Edit warring on Misplaced Pages is not acceptable in any amount, and violating the three-revert rule is very likely to result in loss of your editing privileges. Thank you.

Please take some time to familiarise yourself with our policies and guidelines. You can find information about these at our welcome page which also provides further information about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. And please go through the wikipedia guidelines for disruptive editing to avoid such editing behaviour. Thank you. Drat8sub (talk) 16:44, 20 August 2020 (UTC)

Hello Drat8sub Thanks for your message. I assure you that I am committed to avoid edit warring, and therefore have been trying to develop consensus with other editors on the talk page. You can check my activity on the talk page of the other editors for consensus on the Shaheen Bagh Protests page. I have been on Misplaced Pages for many years and have made over 100 contributions. Thanks for reminding about the 3 revert rule. I appreciate your inputs and look forward to make positive contributions on Wiki in the future. Rajiv.dhy (talk) 21:48, 20 August 2020 (UTC)Rajiv.dhy

Copying within Misplaced Pages

Smile emoji Hi Dhy.rjw! Thank you for your edits to Vesak. It looks like you've copied or moved text from Buddha's Birthday into this page, and while you are welcome to do so, Misplaced Pages's licensing requires that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Misplaced Pages, this is supplied in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from ]; see that page's history for attribution. If you've copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, please provide attribution for this duplication if it has not already been supplied by another editor. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Misplaced Pages:Copying within Misplaced Pages. Thanks! DanCherek (talk) 05:33, 26 July 2021 (UTC) Okay, thanks for the good advice. Your submission at Articles for creation: The Leader Who Had No Title (August 12)

Your recent article submission to Articles for Creation has been reviewed! Unfortunately, it has not been accepted at this time. The reason left by Calliopejen1 was: This submission's references do not show that the subject qualifies for a Misplaced Pages article—that is, they do not show significant coverage (not just passing mentions) about the subject in published, reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject. Before any resubmission, additional references meeting these criteria should be added (see technical help and learn about mistakes to avoid when addressing this issue). If no additional references exist, the subject is not suitable for Misplaced Pages. Please check the submission for any additional comments left by the reviewer. You are encouraged to edit the submission to address the issues raised and resubmit when they have been resolved. Calliopejen1 (talk) 03:55, 12 August 2021 (UTC)
