Mtunzini is a small coastal town that is situated almost exactly halfway along KwaZulu-Natal's coastline in South Africa. The name is a isiZulu meaning "place in the shade." The famous white Zulu chief, John Dunn, had his holiday home here. In 1948, 900 hectares of dune forests, lakes and lagoon at Mtunzini was proclaimed a nature reserve.
