::::::I don't think it's worth the stress of an ANI thread (at least yet), as Sims has said they will not take the other articles I restored to AfD nor will they interfere with any future ones I restore (at least that's what I think they were saying), and Jochem has now said on the Eurovision WikiProject talk page that the mass redirection should stop as well, as there is no longer a consensus for it. Personally I'm satisfied at this stage, and I think even if it did continue in some form a word from you would be preferred and hopefully enough over going to ANI. I just hope more editors notice this has happened (besides BabbaQ and myself, I've alerted another editor) and go through and help restore them and the links to them, as I was tired after sifting through Sims's edits from this month alone. ]] 18:24, 25 March 2022 (UTC) | ::::::I don't think it's worth the stress of an ANI thread (at least yet), as Sims has said they will not take the other articles I restored to AfD nor will they interfere with any future ones I restore (at least that's what I think they were saying), and Jochem has now said on the Eurovision WikiProject talk page that the mass redirection should stop as well, as there is no longer a consensus for it. == Question regarding sockpuppeting and making a new account == | |||
I used to have an account on Misplaced Pages when I was a child and I made very unacceptable and immature violations of Misplaced Pages's fundamentals that lead me to getting banned off the website (and of course one of those which did include a sockpuppet). Since then, I have and I do aim on trying to improve certain pages that I have high interest in, but I do not usually do that often as I am not really active that much. I know this is brief and all, but I would hope to receive some sort of answer in regards to this, so thank you in advance. ] (]) 20:56, 27 March 2022 (UTC) |

Vandalism pt 29
Serge's 29th iteration of his own personal WP:AIV and WP:RFPP. Feel free to report anything you feel may need admin intervention. Sergecross73 msg me 18:41, 7 March 2022 (UTC)
- Hi Serge/@Ferret:. The user Britneyspears782, who then block evaded using the charmingly titled Cookiefullofpoo3, which was blocked by Ferret, has returned to genre-war on Night Call (album) without a source. If you can believe it, their username this time around is Chcoolatecookie4848, a riff on their previous username, although the account's original name was "Britneyspears2277", a variation on their first username. Apparently they only care for Britney Spears and chocolate cookies (sometimes made out of excrement). Ss112 06:45, 11 March 2022 (UTC)
- Yeah, not real creative with the usernames. Blocked. Sergecross73 msg me 13:38, 11 March 2022 (UTC)
- Knoblejrjr is posting his own articles/website into a few football player articles. I warned him on his talk page that doing so should be avoided on Misplaced Pages (per WP:COI) but I thought I'd also let an admin who handles this stuff more be aware of it. ~ Dissident93 09:38, 13 March 2022 (UTC)
- Warned about SPAM and PROMOTION too. Let me know if you catch any more of it post-warning, and I'll indef. Sergecross73 msg me 15:08, 13 March 2022 (UTC)
- Tkgood (talk · contribs) This one is a robotic serial abuser who does not care, as you clearly see on the Talk page. He drills through countless video game credits, sometimes dropping mobygames WP:VGRS like here, here, and Baseball (1983 video game) multiple times after being warned. And the list goes on. — Smuckola(talk) 12:18, 14 March 2022 (UTC)

- Okay well I guess his vandalism of your Talk page (that I'm now restoring) and blanking your warning with an edit message refusing to speak to anyone, is the future violation you were looking for. In fact, just before that, he deleted a RS and added mobygames lol. His whole Talk page was a big middle finger to Misplaced Pages and today we have our very own! — Smuckola(talk) 05:04, 15 March 2022 (UTC)
- I've blocked him 72 hours as a checkuser for creating the attack account Surgehaha. I was feeling lenient has he had reached out to ask about sources. However, this block is open to be extended by any admin who feels it should be, including up to indef. -- ferret (talk) 13:02, 15 March 2022 (UTC)
- Thank you for that. I was going to look into that, but I had kinda wondered if it was that Tim account that's been socking (see a few sections down). Hadn't really expected that of TK. Good block. Between that and his other reactions to a final warning for unsourced editing, I expect further blocks. But this is appropriate for now. Sergecross73 msg me 13:10, 15 March 2022 (UTC)

- Hey Serge. Would you be able to protect Palomino (Miranda Lambert album)? Basically every day since I created it, an IP editor who's vandalised other articles has changed the lead and it's just disruptive at this point. Per her discography the counts are correct—she independently released an album in 2001 that I think a lot of people don't think counts but it exists. Thanks. Ss112 12:26, 17 March 2022 (UTC)

Giubbotto non ortodosso defending Tim96144 on my talk page
Hey Serge. Giubbotto non ortodosso, who I see has edited your talk page quite recently about that Aardwolf68 editor, has come to my talk page trying to call me a "mosquito" (ironic when some might say that's exactly what he acts like, buzzing around Misplaced Pages for years) for reverting Tim96144's edits. I find it strange he said nothing about you as the blocking admin, but it is what it is. Quite clearly Giubbotto non ortodosso, considering he found Binksternet making that post, and he edits Chris Brown topics. Special:Contributions/109.52.26.184/16 worth a block? I see @Binksternet: has already asked for this range block elsewhere too. Ss112 12:41, 16 March 2022 (UTC)
- I blocked and reverted one of the IP. Let me know if you want your talk page temporarily protected or something. Yeah, I think Binksternet had success with getting a different range block, so if you don't have any luck with ferret, you could try the same way Binksternet did. (Someday, I'll try to learn range blocks and try to get CU access. But my real life is so busy that I can't commit time to that stuff for the time being. List of Sonic the Hedgehog characters-response
Sorry about the source requirement that slipped my mind on the List of Sonic the Hedgehog characters page. I had to add Ray the Flying Squirrel so that his redirect can go somewhere. Perhaps a sourced link that is on the video game page that he appeared in might be added since it also mentioned him there. Right? --Rtkat3 (talk) 01:58, 20 March 2022 (UTC)
- Now that Ray has been in both SegaSonic the Hedgehog and Sonic Mania Plus, he finally meets the "2 game" inclusion criteria, but you still need to source all of the content you add to Misplaced Pages articles. Sergecross73 msg me 15:34, 20 March 2022 (UTC)
- Would that include the reference link that I told you about yesterday? I just want to know in the event I plan attempt #2 with it. As I also mentioned, we have to send his redirect somewhere that can talk about him. Rtkat3 (talk) 18:18, 20 March 2022 (UTC)
- I'm not sure I 100% follow what you're proposing, but my only objection before was that it introduced unsourced content to the article. Sergecross73 msg me 15:28, 21 March 2022 (UTC)

Apology to Sergecross73 & others
Hey, Sergecross73. Got my apology & reasons for my Mario Kart 8 Deluxe section edits? Just want to make sure.
Look. I stopped by and I wanted to apologize for all the trouble I never meant to cause. I never meant to be a pest when I kept editing the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe section to explain that the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe DLC has more than one issue. I only wanted to share additional info & issues that I felt Mario Kart fans should at least be aware of. Needless to say, I've made an apology message to let you know that I'm sorry, but also want to explain my reasons to why I added the information that I made.
Just in case you didn't receive it yet, here's what my apologies & reasons say.
My apology reads, and I quote...
- "Please forgive me, Sergecross73, Cyberlink420, & Dissident93. I am so very sorry. It was never my intention to engage in an edit war.
- But at least please try to hear me out.
- In my opinion, talking only about one issue about the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe DLC is NOT enough.
- In addition to people's gripes with the graphical differences of the tracks between the DLC & the Base game, other players & fans of the Mario Kart have raised other issues, like the DLC tracks' lack of Anti-Gravity Mechanics, & especially the DLC's lack of other content like characters, vehicles, wheels, gliders, outfits / skins (aka the "characters alts from Tour"), power-ups, & so on.
- Besides GameRant & Essentially Sports, the ONLY 2 internet sources who've touched about the latter topic in regards of lack of other contet such as characters, vehicles, & more, many people on Platforms such as Twitter & YouTube have either at least mentioned said issue, or even criticized the issue. Even big name YouTubers like GameXplain, NintendoLife, & Arlo have mentioned or even wished that said content would be implemented to Mario Kart 8 Deluxe to go along with the tracks.
- My reasons for adding the information I've been trying to add in the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe section of the Mario Kart 8 Misplaced Pages page is because NOT everyone focuses on only one issue that the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe DLC has. You can't always say that the graphical differences is the ONLY issue that the DLC, you need to discuss OTHER issues, too.
- And everytime I saw that information removed, I felt that you were censoring information that Mario Kart fans could at least be aware of.
- As much as I want to share legitimate sources that discuss the DLC's issue of Lack of characters, vehicles, & other content, the PROBLEM is that other than GameRant & Essentially sports, big name news sources, as far as I know of, DON'T DO THAT.
- The only people I know who discuss on or even at least mention such an issue are...
- -GameRant
- -Essentially Sports
- -YouTubers, including big names like GameXplain, NintendoLife, & Arlo
- -Twitter Users
- At least consider that you can't always focus on only one issue that fans have with the DLC. You have to consider OTHER issues, too.
- Besides, if YouTube Videos & Twitter Tweets are allowed as references so long as they're legitimate, like with the Green Eggs & Ham (TV Series) Misplaced Pages page having the Trailer on YouTube & the Announcement Date on a Netflix Twitter account as references, why not videos made by big names like GameXplain & NintendoLife?
- But all things considered, if you really don't want to me to edit the Mario Kart 8 page anymore, then fine, I'll knock it off.
- Just at least PLEASE consider the OTHER issues that the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe DLC has, and not only one issue it has. Okay?
- Sincerely & with humblest apologies,
- Trekker-J1"
Hope my apology has reached you, and tell Cyberlink420 & Dissident93 that I'm sorry. I only wanted to share information to help Mario Kart fans be aware of, & not cause any trouble at all.
And with Mario Kart's 30th Anniversary coming this August, I wouldn't be surprised if Nintendo added more characters, vehicles, wheels, gliders, outfit / skins (characters alts from Tour), power-ups (maybe), & other content to Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.
Besides, in my honest opinion, if tracks from Mario Kart Tour are coming over to Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, then surely, Nintendo should do the same with Tour's characters, vehicles, wheels, gliders, outfit / skins (characters alts from Tour), power-ups (maybe), & other content.
Not to mention that one day, Mario Kart Tour will shut down, just like Dr. Mario World did, so it'd be wise to preserve Tour's content in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.
But regardless, please... Forgive me for all the trouble that I never meant to cause. I am truly sorry.
Thank you very much, have a nice day, & stay healthy & safe.
Trekker-J1 (talk) 04:25, 22 March 2022 (UTC)
- I hear you, you feel strongly about Mario Kart DLC. But your efforts are a bit misguided. It's very clear your goal is to send a message to Nintendo. An encyclopedia (Misplaced Pages) is not the right medium for what you're trying to accomplish here. Try starting a social media campaign on Twitter or talk to a YouTuber or something - there's places to do this better and more appropriately. Sergecross73 msg me 05:04, 22 March 2022 (UTC)
- Hey there, Sergecross73.
- Thanks for being understanding after reading my apology message. Again, I'm sorry for all the trouble I never meant to cause. All I wanted is to spread word on an issues that fans do have in hopes that others can be aware of. But as you've said, other than GameRant, Essentially Sports, & any users in all social media platforms, including big names like GameXplain & NintendoLife, there aren't any news sources who cover such an issue; and the sources I've shared are not reliable at all.
- In all fairness, I do appreciate you suggesting ideas on how to spread the word on the DLC's lack of additional characters, vehicles, wheels, gliders, outfits, power-ups, & so on, and how they could be implemented into Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, ESPECIALLY when Mario Kart 8 Deluxe's 5th Anniversary is this April, & most of all: when the Mario Kart series' 30th Anniversary is this August.
- Plus, the way I see it, if tracks from Mario Kart Tour are going over to Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, then surely, Nintendo should do the same with Tour's characters like Pauline, vehicles like the Wild Wing from Mario Kart Wii, power ups like the Mega Mushroom, & other content like wheels, gliders, outfits, & more; and the same goes for other content from other Mario Karts / other Mario games, like characters like Petey Pirahna (who's not in Tour yet).
- Besides, Mario Kart Tour may not be shutting down anytime soon at this time, but it eventually will happen, just like with what happened to Dr. Mario World. So the wisest thing to do when that time is about to come is to preserve most of or all of Mario Kart Tour's content, especially characters, vehicles, wheels, gliders, outfits, & power-ups, into Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.
- Not to mention that the Mario Kart Hot Wheels Packs, which focus heavily on Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, has characters, vehicles, & wheels that are not yet implemented into in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. These include Diddy Kong, who is currently a racer in Tour, the Flame Flyer from Mario Kart Wii, the Wild Wing from Mario Kart Wii, & the Birthday Girl from Mario Kart 7.
- Sadly, the most I did to talk about this topic & spread the word on it are...
- - Twitter Comments
- - YouTube Comments
- - A Petition
- - Discussing the issue / topic to Nintendo Support
- - And so on.
- Most of all, some people agree with me, while others do not. And sometimes, I feel that my desire to raise the topic & spread the word on it is not enough, resulting in Nintendo to not be aware of the issues & not do anything to make new additions to Mario Kart 8, such as more characters (Ex: Pauline, Diddy Kong, Kamek, etc.), vehicles (Ex: Wild Wing, Flame Flyer, etc.), wheels (Ex: Classic / Pipe Frame, Rainbow, Racing / B-Dasher Mk. II, Sporty / Wild Wing, etc.), gliders (Ex: Record Setter, etc.), power ups (Ex: Mega Mushroom, etc.), features (Ex: outfits for the characters, vehicle paints, Mirrored 200cc class, New Grand Prix & Versus modes to use new / more power-ups, etc.), & so on.
- That's why I keep saying that we & many people need to spread the word on this topic / issue, especially to Nintendo themselves AND especially since, aside from the 2.5 & upcoming 3 year anniversaries in Mario Kart Tour, we have huge 2 Mario Kart anniversaries coming soon: Mario Kart 8 Deluxe's 5th Anniversary in April 28th of 2022, & especially the Mario Kart series' 30th Anniversary in August 27th of 2022.
- All in all, Sergecross73, I do appreciate you trying to help me. And if there's any way you or anyone else can do to help me spread the word on such a topic, especially to Nintendo, that would make me very happy indeed. Otherwise, if you can't, that's fine, too, but I would appreciate those helping me.
- Anyway, you have a nice day, and in Mario Kart terms, keep on racing. Trekker-J1 (talk) 20:10, 23 March 2022 (UTC)

Sonic Adventure
The situation with it is explained under the release info. It was developed by Sonic Team in Japan and released there first, and then was later patched by Sonic Team USA, who formed after the game originally came out, during localization, because the original release in Japan had a bunch of glitches. Therefore, it should be excluded from Video Games Developed in the United States and not be considered a Sonic Team USA game, as it was already developed and released by Sonic Team in Japan before Sonic Team USA were a thing, and they only fixed up the game during their localization, the game had already finished development and released in Japan. The development info also explains that Sonic Team in Japan were the ones who specifically developed the game.Vesperius (talk) 13:01, 24 March 2022 (UTC)
- Ah, I think I was thinking of Sonic Adventure 2. People do carelessly add categories a lot, so it could have been an error. Alright, I won't oppose it. Sergecross73 msg me 14:45, 24 March 2022 (UTC)
Baffling redirect campaign on Eurovision song articles
Hey Serge. In December last year, the editor Sims2aholic8 began a discussion at Misplaced Pages:WikiProject Eurovision about the plethora of stub articles for Eurovision entries. The discussion had two editors who agreed about redirecting the least notable among them (certainly not all tagged as stubs) and one, BabbaQ, who disagreed. Since then, it appears Sims2aholic8 has taken this as carte blanche to redirect every single Eurovision song article that is a stub, including songs that reached number one in European countries! I'm actually still a little stunned to be blunt with you. Examples: , , , , a song that reached number 3 in Germany and charted in at least 10 countries, ... and this is just the tip of the iceberg. I've asked the user to stop, but there's evidence they've begun an edit war in re-reverting to restore a redirect so I am very concerned. Also very concerned at how far this goes. It's been going on since at least February and that's as far back as I looked. God knows how long it would take to go through and restore the links and check every article Simsaholic has redirected simply because it's categorised as a stub. I will never understand users who think stub = should be redirected. What do you think? If you agree, please comment at their talk page as well. This should be halted because the user has proven they can't differentiate between what's a notable stub and what's not. And they just tried to do a blanket nomination of the 20 or so articles I restored. I think this needs urgent action from an admin... Ss112 07:10, 25 March 2022 (UTC)
- I'm additionally worried about some of these Eurovision editors, Serge... one of them said "Normally not even three reverts are considered edit warring". Yikes. I may be wrong, but some of them seem to be thinking that a blanket/one-size-fits-all redirecting approach is "okay" because "those articles can just be restored anyway". Ss112 14:26, 25 March 2022 (UTC)
- I agree with what you're saying - I think that there are some pretty poor interpretations going on here related to NSONGS, edit warring, etc. but I believe hashing it out at AFD is the best way to move forward if they're being stubborn on said stances. I think taking a beating at AFD (which is the expected result if you ask me) is a better way to handle it than my intervention. Sergecross73 msg me 15:23, 25 March 2022 (UTC)
- Sims2aholic8 reverted the only two editors (once each) that I saw who reverted their bold redirecting of these songs. I'm concerned about the attitudes of some of these Eurovision-focused editors going forward, and that's not what's at AfD. They seem to think mass redirection of songs, including some that went to number one, is okay because some of those articles are stubs and "nobody's edited them in years" or the songs have apparently "fallen off people's radars". Combined with the editor Jochem van Hees focusing on my tone instead of this problem and arguing that because BRD is not a policy editors should not attempt to follow it, it does not bode well at all. I'm confused as to how no admin has questioned Sims2aholic8 thus far, and I'm personally very concerned about Jochem thinking somebody needs to go to three reverts for it to be edit warring or "as long as it doesn't last too long". Surely somebody who has more sway than I should correct that...? Jochem also seems to be saying if an editor sincerely disagreed with an article being reverted, AfD does not have to be the next step. Taken altogether it's painting a picture that I don't like. Ss112 15:39, 25 March 2022 (UTC)
- I just find it baffling that Sims does all of these redirects based on a very weak consensus. I also question why he made all of these excessive redirects of obviously notable songs that have charted in several countries. It is disruptive. Anyways, good that Ss112 noticed it and stopped it before it got even worse.BabbaQ (talk) 16:27, 25 March 2022 (UTC)
- Indeed, I agree with both of you. Charting on multiple national charts is usually a pretty safe bet for notability. Here's my thoughts. If these AFDs generally close as keep, and they still keep doing this sort of stuff, I'll intervene, because at that point it'll be a bit more of blatant example of disruption, where I'm more comfortable with making unilateral decisions. That said, you don't need to wait for me - I won't get in your way if you guys want to take it to ANI. In fact, I'd probably say I generally agree with you and just wanted to give it more time, if I was directly asked for my stance. Sergecross73 msg me 18:12, 25 March 2022 (UTC)
- I don't think it's worth the stress of an ANI thread (at least yet), as Sims has said they will not take the other articles I restored to AfD nor will they interfere with any future ones I restore (at least that's what I think they were saying), and Jochem has now said on the Eurovision WikiProject talk page that the mass redirection should stop as well, as there is no longer a consensus for it.
Question regarding sockpuppeting and making a new account
I used to have an account on Misplaced Pages when I was a child and I made very unacceptable and immature violations of Misplaced Pages's fundamentals that lead me to getting banned off the website (and of course one of those which did include a sockpuppet). Since then, I have and I do aim on trying to improve certain pages that I have high interest in, but I do not usually do that often as I am not really active that much. I know this is brief and all, but I would hope to receive some sort of answer in regards to this, so thank you in advance. 71.59.205.114 (talk) 20:56, 27 March 2022 (UTC)
