Tadao Takahashi (died April 6, 2022) was a Brazilian computer scientist and researcher who was credited with contributions toward planning and deployment of the internet in Brazil. He was an inductee to the Internet Hall of Fame in 2017.

Biography

Takahashi was the founder of the National Research Network (RNP), a Brazilian academic network that in the early days of the internet, coordinated with other national academic networks to form what would become the backbone of the global internet and the foundation for Brazilian internet. He was inducted into the Internet Hall of Fame as a global connector in 2017.

Takahashi died on April 6, 2022 from a heart attack in Campinas in south east Brazil.
