Jang Mun-ik (Korean: 장문익, born March 20, 2001), also known by the mononym Munik (Korean: 문익), is a South Korean singer and actor under Dongyo Entertainment. He is a member of the South Korean boy group DKZ.
Early life
Jang Mun-ik was born on March 20, 2001, in Busan, South Korea. Munik has been practicing kendo since he was young and received certification.>
Musical career
Pre-debut
Before his official debut with Dongkiz, Munik had been actively promoting in and out of Korea.
On November 21, 2018, the group released their pre-debut single, "Nom".
2019–2021: Debut
On April 24, 2019, Dongkiz officially debuted with the release of their single album, Dongkiz on the Block. In an interview, Munik mentioned BTS as an artist he respects the most.
On July 7, 2020, Munik and Jaechan formed the sub-group Dongkiz I:Kan. They later debuted with their song "Y.O.U.".
On August 24, 2021, on the group's social media it was announced that Munik would be taking a break from activities due to health reasons.
On March 18, 2022, the group re-branded to DKZ while Munik remained on hiatus.
