Jeremy Silman (born August 25 1954) is an American International Master of chess. Author of "The Amateur's Mind: Turning Chess Misconceptions into Chess Mastery" and "The complete book of chess strategy". He has won the US Open, the American Open and the National Open. In times past he was the coach of the US junior national chess team.
He is one of the few players to have defeated Garry Kasparov and Anatoly Karpov in competitive play.
