Sub-division isn't the same as its administrative town. Ofcourse it needs to be expanded. Atpadi is a taluka in Sangli district of Maharashtra, in 1991 it was one of the eight talukas of the district. In 2012 the taluka suffered a severe drought, reportedly the worst in living memory.
