Armenians

Hello. You participated in the edit war here today, with two reverts and no attempts at communication on the talk page. Please pursue dispute resolution, using only polite discussion and not excessive reverts in the future. Thanks. Dmcdevit·t 05:49, 20 February 2007 (UTC)

I left this message earlier and you deleted it. Let me repeat, engaging in sterile reverting across many pages is unproductive. When you have disputes with others, you must use dispute resolution, and not engage in edit warring. In particular, taking advantage of your opponents' blocks to revert all their last edits is not acceptable: , , , , . Referring to another editor's edits as "vandalism" as you did here is inappropriate and constitutes incivility. Furthermore, comments like "Watch for Adil." show that you have the wrong attitude. Misplaced Pages is not a battleground, please read WP:NOT#BATTLEGROUND, and a hostile approach is counterproductive. When you return from the block, please make sure you try dispute resolution and mediate your disputes rather than confrontational edit warring. Dmcdevit·t 23:51, 21 February 2007 (UTC)
This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

Request reason:

I request that I be unblocked because I was already leaving Misplaced Pages before User:Dmcdevit placed the notification on my user page. No academic sources take this website seriously and its becoming increasingly clear to me that in cases such as the Armenian-Azeri conflict, it's become used as a base for forwarding ethnic bias and tension. I don't want to contribute on Misplaced Pages anymore. I'd rather do something productive with my time. All the best, Aivazovsky 00:05, 22 February 2007 (UTC)

Decline reason:

You have not been blocked directly. Please follow these instructions. It's also worth noting that Misplaced Pages deliberately does not attempt to be a reliable source. -- Yamla 00:28, 22 February 2007 (UTC)

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

I'm confused on two counts. First, I'm not sure how this makes sense -- if you want to leave, why are you requesting unblocking? Second, I don't see any blocks in your block log -- if you're blocked, it's probably through your IP address or an autoblock (if you copy-paste the {{unblock-auto}} template generated on the "you're blocked" page you'll see when trying to edit when blocked, that should be enough information to resolve that). – Luna Santin (talk) 00:15, 22 February 2007 (UTC)
Seeing as how I can't edit any articles outside of my user talk page, I would say that I've been blocked (actually auto blocked). I want to be unblocked so I can remove myself from all the WikiProjects I joined. -- Aivazovsky 00:22, 22 February 2007 (UTC)

Clearing an autoblock

Due to the nature of the block applied, we need additional information before we can decide whether to unblock you. It is very likely that you are not personally blocked. If you are prevented from editing, it may be because you are autoblocked or blocked because of your IP address. Without further details, there is nothing further we can do to review or lift your block. Please follow these instructions:

  1. If you have a Misplaced Pages account, please ensure that you are logged in.
Your account name will be visible in the top right of this page if you are.
If it isn't, try bypassing your web browser's cache.
  2. Try to edit the Sandbox.
If you are able to edit the sandbox, you are not blocked from editing. Either the autoblock on your IP address has already expired, or you weren't blocked in the first place. Either way, you can resume editing.
  3. If you are still blocked, follow the directions below:
    1. Copy the {{unblock-auto|...}} code generated for you under the "Unblock request" section.
    2. Paste the code at the bottom of your user talk page, and click save.
If you cannot edit your own talk page, use the Unblock Ticket Request System to make your request.

Aivazovsky email me

You should not leave Misplaced Pages; and if I asked you to email me it was not because I wanted to blame you for something. You obviously have a place here. Anyway, please email me. Fad (ix) 00:52, 22 February 2007 (UTC)

Stay

Hey Aivazovsky, please re-consider your decision. Your work on Armenian related articles is some of the best and WikiProject Armenia would be losing one of its hardest working contributers :( You really have your place here in Misplaced Pages. I don't know if all this sounds convincing or not բայց պետք ունի Հայաստանը քեզի ընկեր: - Fedayee 02:24, 22 February 2007 (UTC)

Hi Aivazovsky. You should not leave. This happened to many people, come back after your block expires and we'll try to resolve our differences. Take care. Grandmaster 05:54, 22 February 2007 (UTC)
Hi! Do stay, I think you have good contributions to make still. --Free smyrnan 06:20, 22 February 2007 (UTC)
