The way the link was before you "fixed" it, it would have gone to the right page. The way the link was after you "fixed" it, it would have gone to the wrong page. Whether or not such a change is plausible in this particular case, you have "fixed" well over a thousand links so far this year.
	:Second, non-piped links make the source code easier to read and make better use of the "what links here" tool, making it easier to track how articles are linked and helping with large-scale changes to links.
