Trade
Guys, come tf on. At this point, not listing Russell Wilson as a Bronco could be considered false information. If the NFL itself isnt a reliable enough source for you, idk what is. Idgaf if theres a physical pending and you need to be "technical" about everything, its been all but confirmed the hes a Bronco for days now. Ik youre probably tired of hearing requests like this, but if you change the page like literally everyone is telling you to, you wont get anymore JeffTheToaster (talk) 11:36, 13 March 2022 (UTC)
Russell Wilson Broncos Trade
You can now officially change which team he is on since it’s March 16th the new league year started 71.38.106.38 (talk) 09:58, 16 March 2022 (UTC)
- False. The league year doesn't end up 3:59:59pm Eastern Standard Time. Technically things can still change between now and then so proper protocol is to wait until after 4pm and for the team to announce it. Hey man im josh (talk) 11:45, 16 March 2022 (UTC)
This is why Misplaced Pages sucks. Y'all care more about minute details no one cares about rather that giving out factual information. If you bozos dont trust Ian Rapaport, Adam Schefter, the NFL or Russell Wilson him-fucking-self, than who do y'all trust? — Preceding unsigned comment added by JeffTheToaster (talk • contribs) 08:12, March 16, 2022 (UTC)
- I'm sorry you have no patience, that must be tough. Both of those guys have been wrong plenty of times, which you would know if you follow NFL reporters closely. Deals also fall through all the time — Hey man im josh (talk) 15:16, 16 March 2022 (UTC)
- Just wanted to drop by and share a recent example of why this rule exists.
- (Schefter) Former Washington RB J.D. McKissic intends to sign a two-year, $7 million deal with upside to $8 with the Buffalo Bills, per source.
- (Schefter) RB J.D. McKissic - who intended to sign a two-year, $7 million deal with the Buffalo Bills - changed his mind and is instead returning to Washington for the same compensation, per sources.
- Just saw this news pop up and thought of you. Hey man im josh (talk) 17:50, 16 March 2022 (UTC)
- And didn't Randy Gregory flip flop at the last moment? – Muboshgu (talk) 18:07, 16 March 2022 (UTC)
- I am reminded of a bit of dialogue from Julius Caesar (play),
Caesar: "The Ides of March have come." Soothsayer: Aye, Caesar, but not gone."
Chill out and wait for the teams to announce it. – Muboshgu (talk) 15:21, 16 March 2022 (UTC)
- We trust when multiple reliable sources—especially ones where reporters name their sources—report the event as a done deal. We don't gaze into the crystal ball to report expected future trades, and we don't rely on single sources that use anonymous sources, whether it be Adam Schefter or TMZ. —C.Fred (talk) 15:57, 16 March 2022 (UTC)
Change the damn page already
Alright, dorks. Its March 16th. Its 4 o'clock. Both Denver and Seattle have acknowledged the trade. You got everything you wanted. Are you finally going to do what everyone has been telling you to do since last week? Or do you have more BS excuses and technicalities to cite? JeffTheToaster (talk) 19:59, 16 March 2022 (UTC)
- JeffTheToaster, if you can't assume good faith and maintain civility in the future, I will block you. Got it? – Muboshgu (talk) 20:27, 16 March 2022 (UTC)
- I'd go ahead and block for being uncivil, check his previous edits. ~ Dissident93 21:53, 16 March 2022 (UTC)
How long until page is unprojected?
How long until the page will be unprojected so non extended confirmed users and administrators can edit again? If i recall correctly when Tom Brady first retired, the page was projected and a week later, it went back. How long does it take for pages like these? Just curious. MichaelFansz (talk) 20:35, 16 March 2022 (UTC)
- MichaelFansz, the protection logs show that Eagles247 applied a three-year autoconfirmed protection on March 1 and then Bagumba upgraded it to ECP on March 9, with an expiration of tomorrow, at which point the page will be fully unprotected. I believe we should keep the autoconfirmed protection in place. With the hopes that they approve, I'll reduce it to autoconfimred right now as the transaction is now official. – Muboshgu (talk) 20:44, 16 March 2022 (UTC)
- We can always readjust if it's still not stable e.g. jersey numbers, etc.—Bagumba (talk) 21:45, 16 March 2022 (UTC)
See
Told you he was a bronco. Way to finally get it. 2601:283:4B80:5760:A13C:E6BE:1E67:33B7 (talk) 00:16, 17 March 2022 (UTC)
- Yeah, like we told you, he became a Bronco today, after 4pm Eastern time. – Muboshgu (talk) 00:22, 17 March 2022 (UTC)
- Just because you say something doesn't make it true. He wasn't at the time of the previous edits, simple as that. Hey man im josh (talk) 00:51, 17 March 2022 (UTC)
Trade context
I've replaced cited information about the background and motivation for Wilson's trade to the Broncos. The editor who removed this material wrote that it was "irrelevant", but I disagree as the context of the tade decision is relevant to the trade and to Wilson's career. This editor also described the information as "conflicting", but that's to be expected in a controversial situation. The references I offer come from both sides and are balanced. The trade itself is a significant inflection in Wilson's career, so a few sentences about it can not be considered WP:UNDUE. -- Mikeblas (talk) 20:06, 9 April 2022 (UTC)
