The Lion that Meowed
I'm deeply disturbed that this harassment is still occurring. I may send Eddie an e-mail and see if I can convince him to stop. I really hoped that at one time, Eddie could be a productive member of the rail community on Misplaced Pages, but I suppose I had high expectations. Have you thought about semi-protecting your user and talk pages in the short-term? —Viriditas | Talk 05:48, 6 January 2007 (UTC)
- I don't feel harassed, just vandalized. Reverting is easy. Don't stress about it. —Bunchofgrapes (talk) 07:34, 6 January 2007 (UTC)
- I would like to see a resolution to this issue. If there is anyway I can help out, please don't hesitate to contact me. —Viriditas | Talk 23:52, 6 January 2007 (UTC)
Thanks
Thanks for reverting vandalism to my user talk page!! :D Cheers, Tangotango (talk) 03:34, 7 January 2007 (UTC)
Train wreck picture
Hi Bunch, I found it odd that you are having the train wreck picture to decorate your talk page for so long... Your selection of the pictures have been quite good but this one stands out, really. I hope the image does not indicate the state of your mood. --BorgQueen 13:53, 7 January 2007 (UTC)
- Your psychological guess is correct, really, BQ. I'm still working through life adjustments to the tragedy in September. Plus I always seem to be at least partially entangled in depressing wiki-politics lately. Still, it's time at last for me to archive this page at last, and that's usually a good time to find a new pretty picture with a portrait orientation. Suggestions? —Bunchofgrapes (talk) 17:28, 7 January 2007 (UTC)

For your work at C:CSD
As you so stated, here is an gold star (ignore the fact it's more orange than yellow) for your fantastic work with C:CSD. Certified.Gangsta (talk · contribs) vandalizing my userpage
Certified.Gangsta (talk · contribs) is repeatedly vandalizing my userpage after the final warning (he deleted the warning). Certified.Gangsta is also censoring and deleting all my comments from his talk page. Could you help put a stop to this? Guardian Tiger 19:09, 10 January 2007 (UTC)
- He's not vandalizing your user page; don't call it vandalism. (He thinks he's doing the right thing, thus, it isn't vandalism.) He is however edit warring there for little reason, and I have asked him to stop in my edit summary there. He is free to delete your comments from his talk page. —Bunchofgrapes (talk) 19:14, 10 January 2007 (UTC)
- Certified.Gangsta is making unjustified accusations on his talk page while deleting and censoring ALL my comments. Certified.Gangsta is using his talk pages to attempt to mountain a campaign against me. He is censoring and deleting ALL my comments that refute the accusations. Is there anything that can be done about this? Guardian Tiger 19:29, 10 January 2007 (UTC)
- You both appear to be harassing the other. Everybody stop and try to grow up. Stop posting the same message on everybody's page, too. Thanks. —Bunchofgrapes (talk) 19:35, 10 January 2007 (UTC)
Your block of TheJokerman2247
TheJokerman2247, who you blocked, has made an {{unblock}} request on his talk page. Please respond to it. I don't see a connection between him and EddieSegoura, and I noticed that you didn't seem to comment about this connection anywhere. I think this user deserves to see the highlights of the evidence in this case. Eli Falk 13:12, 11 January 2007 (UTC)

Tell me something good about Misplaced Pages
Or tell me I should quit. Or better yet, give me tips for how to quit. Thanks! —Bunchofgrapes (talk) 06:02, 12 January 2007 (UTC)
- Something good? Well, there's always work to do! (Sorry, I couldn't resist...) Best way to quit is to go cold turkey, which I recommend doing once in a while. Everyone needs a break. —Viriditas | Talk 08:26, 12 January 2007 (UTC)
- I'm sorry if you're feeling discouraged. One thing that I find good about the project is that if a particular aspect is temporarily wearying, one can always hop over to a far-removed topic or task; for example, from projectspace to article-writing and back again, or in admins' case, from administration tasks to writing or editing or vice versa. The idea is not to be consumed by the feuds that pop up, or the edit wars, or any of the other annoyances that arise; but to contribute to knowledge, and in the process, to have some fun. But I'm not telling you anything you don't already know, having been here far longer than I have; I appreciated kind words from you on one of the noticeboards at a difficult moment some months ago, and the place can still use you and more like you. Newyorkbrad 10:50, 12 January 2007 (UTC)
- I don't think you will leave, because like me no matter how tempted you are not a quitter. There is lots you can do, if you are temporarily tired of writing good pages, you could start a crusade (I have a list of suitable subjects somewhere) failing that you could go an irritate someone, that is pretty popular these days - slap a few templates on here and there (I have a list also of people who IMO need templates slapping on them) you could even make your own template to slap on someone. I bet Brad has never had a template, and would be thrilled to have one -so you see there is much you can do. Start Category: Wikipedians who are pissed off do I need to go on. Anyway if one leaves in my experience one has to log on just as often just to see what people are saying about one - so if you are here you might as well edit - it also has the added advantage of irritating the hell out of people who were glad you left. Except in your case no-one would be glad to see the back of you - so all in all you don't really have a lot of choice but to stay and stick it out - do you? Giano 12:56, 12 January 2007 (UTC)

Good? We are creating a 💕 from the ground up. I think that is pretty amazing.
If you are a feeling bit disillusioned (you are not alone there) then I would echo the comments above about either taking a break to get some fresh air - I am a bit refreshed after 3 weeks off over Christmas and the New Year - or finding something different to do for a change: follow some redlinks and create some new content (see User:ALoan/redlinks for some ideas), or add new material to old articles, or pick a topic in an area that interests you and write a FAC-length article on it, or do a mindless admin task for a while, or update some project pages, or get involved in a new area.
Good luck. -- ALoan (Talk) 13:10, 12 January 2007 (UTC)

Redaction from Giano's talk page
Hi Bunchofgrapes,
Regarding this edit, why did you remove it? Read the text at the top of his page, it's obvious that this remains a charged issue. Your removal of my text doesn't make sense, do you assert that there's no way to discuss things with him? Was there a problem with what I wrote? Please help me out here, I'm trying to understand your reasoning. - CHAIRBOY (☎) 16:17, 12 January 2007 (UTC)
- I assert there is no way you can discuss things with him. I assert that fact is obvious. —Bunchofgrapes (talk) 16:20, 12 January 2007 (UTC)
- Why? - CHAIRBOY (☎) 16:21, 12 January 2007 (UTC)
(Pardon the butting in) I thought Chairboy's message was polite and reasonable. If another editor can't abide polite and reasonable communication, that's a real problem, but not with the person being reasonable. Friday (talk) 16:23, 12 January 2007 (UTC)
- OK. I quit. —Bunchofgrapes (talk) 16:29, 12 January 2007 (UTC)
- I think you are quitting over a rather minor dispute. I was concerned that after Giano called for desyopping a number of people, that he would get a rise out of one of them, so I understand your reason for removing the inquiry, but at some point Giano needs to resolve these questions himself. Fred Bauder 23:12, 12 January 2007 (UTC)
- Oh no Giano bloody doesn't - that is what you and the arbcom are here for, now go and deal with it! Giano 23:22, 12 January 2007 (UTC)
- That's really nice Fred. Why don't you just express what you seem to be saying more directly? Here, let me help: "You, Bunchofgrapes, appear to be stupid. Oh, and everything is Giano's fault." (If you think I am pulling back solely because of this one little thing here, you must surely believe the former.) —Bunchofgrapes (talk) 23:29, 12 January 2007 (UTC)
- No, I don't. You're trying to put words in my mouth. Fred Bauder 02:30, 13 January 2007 (UTC)
- OK. Tell me what you did mean then. —Bunchofgrapes (talk) 06:09, 13 January 2007 (UTC)
- I wish you wouldn't. In my experience you've been a good editor. (But in my experience, so has Chairboy.) Some issues are more divisive than is healthy. WP:TEA? Friday (talk) 16:31, 12 January 2007 (UTC)

- Speaking of, could some kind soul have a word with someone in the position to do so on IRC to remove my permissions to #wikipedia-en-admins? It is my view that if that scum-pit must exist at all, it should draw a fine bright line and not admit washed-up old admins that nobody in their right mind trusts to make things any better around here. —Bunchofgrapes (talk) 17:37, 12 January 2007 (UTC)
- Hi, Grapey. It's curious that you should hand in your sysop bit right at the moment that I'm thinking of handing in mine. (I just need to remain a sysop long enough to do something about that sock/abuse conflict that's all over my Talk first... there I go again, thinking that an admin flapping about can make a difference!) As for the scum-pit, who are these people who rely on us—pretty much you and me—to police it and get abused for our pains? I've sure never seen the arbitrator who wrote to Giano about our low morale do anything to help in there, for example. I HAVE on the other hand been abused and threatened by other arbitrators, for speaking my mind on en-admins. I've been kickbanned for—oh, well no idea what that specific thing was for, nobody's deigned to inform me, can't say I care much. Sorry I'm not in the mood for having a word with somebody in "position" on your behalf, Bunchie, or at all, much as I'd like to be of assistance. I just don't feel like talking with them. I looked into the question a little when the topic campe up on Talk:Cheese, and I'm pretty sure there are no reliable sources. This isn't like Monkey brain, which is mostly mythical but still a well-established myth. This is people on the internet going "heh heh wouldn't human cheese be cool?" Then there's the business of interpolating what human cheese's nutrition would be, which is original research. What do you think? —Bunchofgrapes (talk) 21:29, 13 January 2007 (UTC)

Hey
Hi Bunchofgrapes,
I noticed you were behind a lot of copyediting on the Cornell University article. I am working on getting the Ohio Wesleyan University article to FA status. I was wondering if you might have a few minutes to take a look at it and let me know what your thoughts are? Your experience with another university-related article should help me a lot. I greatly appreciate your time! Great images on your userpage, by the way. LaSaltarella 09:12, 14 January 2007 (UTC)

- Dear Bunchofgrapes, thank you for the response! I appreciate it. The OWU article has pretty much gone through a thorough copyediting process but if you have a few minutes to spare, I am sure your comments will improve it. Thank you again! LaSaltarella 23:06, 6 February 2007 (UTC)

H (gang rapist)
Hi Bunch, I was trying to find an appropriate category for his "intellectual and mental disabilities", but it doesn't seem to exist yet. It is an important detail since he got his sentence reduced by asserting his alleged mental disabilities, citing his IQ of 67. Category:People with disabilities is too broad, so I'd like to create one, but Category:People with extremely low IQ sounds too troll-ish, and so does Category:Retarded people. Category:Retarded rapists sounds even worse. Any good idea will be appreciated. --BorgQueen 08:39, 15 January 2007 (UTC)

The channel is now thoroughly discredited and will never be a source of power again, and used by anyone of Wikipedian value - it is now basically finished - no one will ever believe a word that emanates from it again, no doubt a few little firecrackers will continue to pop on admins notice boards and such places but I think people can now evaluate such comments for themselves and see them for what they are dying embers of a former power base. Once again thanks for your support in this. I have appreciated it. Giano 10:46, 17 January 2007 (UTC)
Keen
I've been wrestling with words even more than usual in this little edit window. I've tried humurous verse, images from commons, and meaningful wikilinks. I haven't done so far as to video myself Krumping to the sound of a child crying, but I was close.
I'll fall back on plain speaking then, although I loathe its nakedness.
Whenever I see your signature, I look closer. I have always found you to be an excellent contributor. If there is ever anything that you'd like assistance with, ask. If you ever want a second opinion, ask and I'll be flattered to boot. When you're ready to be re-nominated, ask.
I beleive that things are getting better, slowly but with great resolution. Abide.
Good luck with popcorn and butter.

- I join in that. With one correction, you can have the keys to the broom closet back whenever and if ever you are ready to ask for them, no need for renomination.
- In the meantime, you can hop over to my talk and see some of the fun you're missing with a certain acquaintance of yours.

- Disregarding the fact that I'm new to this, even though I've been a member for awhile, just started posting today, IF you do decide to become an admin again, then I will formally congratulate you, as I plan to do whenever something like this comes up. Congrats. --ImmortalKaine 09:24, 26 January 2007 (UTC)
Rant
Dear Mr ofgrapes I have taken the liberty of copying your "rant" from your user page and sending it (with acknowledgement of course) to a few colleagues who are starting to contribute; for their edification . May I say it encapsulates the main gist of this project very concisely. Thank you in advance Mhicaoidh 23:00, 29 January 2007 (UTC)

Battery dying ... must sleep ... please monitor user ...
Hey! I've explained a little clearer on the WP:Help desk, but I don't have time to explain here. You're apparently awake, so I choose you! Congratulations. Please please please could you check this user's contribs occasionally while you're on Contributions/Joshw26, and maybe pass them on to someone else while you're away? If you look at their talk page, and their reply to me on my talk page, and the help desk, and their contribs, all will be clear.
Thank you. Hope they're well-behaved.

- Thanks very much. Seems like they stopped overnight. Looks like I'm just paranoid! Thanks again, you know how it is when you start looking into something and have to go before you finish :-) Skittle 15:23, 30 January 2007 (UTC)
Request
Comments re: my post on Red Man understood - it's not my custom, I blame vacation boredom, however the tone of comment struck me as a litle harsh. You may care, you may not, but I wanted you to know how it came over. All the best Stevingtonian 22:35, 22 February 2007 (UTC)
- I care. I'm sorry, I wasn't trying to be harsh. —Bunchofgrapes (talk) 22:37, 22 February 2007 (UTC)
Thanks - and very best wishes Stevingtonian 15:17, 23 February 2007 (UTC)
hostility
Please stop being so hostile to me, I am trying to clean up any mess I made. I am plenty aware of my surroundings, can you demonstrate a time when I have not been? Why should I go away? I gave an apology, it was not for you. Why are you so mad at me? It is simply a dispute over policy interpretation. Basically, I am asking for peace here. InBC 21:32, 5 March 2007 (UTC)
- Look HiginBC I don't know what is going on here, but you and BoG really do need to shake hands and be friends again - life is too short for all this angst <sigh> Giano 21:35, 5 March 2007 (UTC)
