Hi, just an fyi, the messagebox on his user page doesn't render. Might be an issue with my browser, but might just wanna take a look at it. Cheers. X-750 List of articles I have screwed over 20:15, 26 September 2022 (UTC)
- Oh - thanks for that. Yes, it looks like the message box template has changed over the past 14 years and the input params are now different. Fixed now - Alison 21:18, 26 September 2022 (UTC)

Thank you for fixing my screw-up. I never intended to delete the article, just the redirect, and I'm still not sure where I went wrong. I tried to restore it, but as you know, the system can't handle restoring that much history. Based on your edit summary, I assume you'll get back the entire history later. Again, my apologies.--Bbb23 (talk) 16:01, 29 September 2022 (UTC)
- No worries - I got the page back live again and move-prot'd it for now. I may need to bring it to ANI as it may need dev intervention. Or we restore it in sections of 100, which is going to be paaaaain. Either way, we're out of imminent trouble, as the page itself is live again - Alison 16:07, 29 September 2022 (UTC)
- Phew - got it! All good now :) - Alison 16:09, 29 September 2022 (UTC)
- I was leaving you a message but edit-conflicted. How did you do it?--Bbb23 (talk) 16:10, 29 September 2022 (UTC)
- Persistence. I think I just got lucky - Alison 16:12, 29 September 2022 (UTC)

Your draft article, Draft:Intersex rights in the Republic of Ireland
Hello, Alison. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "Intersex rights in the Republic of Ireland".
In accordance with our policy that Misplaced Pages is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been deleted. If you plan on working on it further and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.
Thanks for your submission to Misplaced Pages, and happy editing. Liz 20:17, 19 October 2022 (UTC)
- Hello, Alison,
- It always feels odd when Twinkle leaves these messages on the talk pages of long-time editors/admins. Of course, if you want to return to working on this article, you can restore it yourself. It looked interesting! Thanks. Liz 20:19, 19 October 2022 (UTC)
Alison, I restored it since I figured you might have been busy with something else. I was going to bring it up to GA status, but unfortunately I don't have my copy of the Encyclopedia of Everything here in the kitchen with me. Oh, gotta run! Drmies (talk) 20:21, 19 October 2022 (UTC)
ArbCom 2022 Elections voter message
Hello! Voting in the 2022 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 12 December 2022. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.
The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Misplaced Pages arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.
If you wish to participate in the 2022 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}}

IP block exemption
Hi Alison. The IP address at school was recently banned because User:DA9523 checklogs showed that he was abusing several accounts, resulting in the IP address getting banned, and every time he goes on Misplaced Pages, the IP gets banned again. I was wondering if I could not be affected by this IP ban. I promise I will NOT abuse this privelage, as I have made many several significant contributions to Misplaced Pages, and the last thing I would want to do is harm Misplaced Pages in any way shape or form. My editing time is mostly at school, so it would be very useful if I could edit at home and at school. Thank you, Matthew. MasterMatt12 (talk) 16:05, 14 December 2022 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of Category:2023 births
A tag has been placed on Category:2023 births indicating that it is currently empty, and is not a disambiguation category, a category redirect, a featured topics category, under discussion at Categories for discussion, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion. If it remains empty for seven days or more, it may be deleted under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself. - @Qwerfjkl: Fine with whatever is chosen, though it's only a matter of short time before it's created. My goal here is/was to ensure the Wikidata entry is created and tied together to other Wikis (like ga.wikipedia, where I've created a placeholder category as it's redlinked from our own infrastructure as we're now in 2023). Fine either way - Alison 01:08, 4 January 2023 (UTC)

WP:RIP
Hi, for some reason I cannot post to WP:RIP talk. Could you please clarify your last comment there, bearing in mind that the article is intended for contributors with a minimum number of edits to EN-WP. Sad although any death may be, your fulfilment of the request runs a risk of opening floodgates.
It's probably best to reply there rather than here. Thanks. - Sitush (talk) 19:26, 24 January 2023 (UTC)
- Hi there. Okay - once I catch my breath, will add a rationale there. They're a notable Wikipedian with extensive edits on other wikis + enwp, so there is a justification there. We're not going to add every enwp editor that has a dozen+ edits - that's not the goal. Also, I've tried unprot'ing the page now, so try see if you can edit again. Thanks for bringing it up! - Alison 21:38, 24 January 2023 (UTC)

"Without warning"
I have emailed the OS team myself to request the log entries be suppressed (you might, in this context, find this proposal at the Community Wishlist Survey interesting).
But, as for Bastun being blocked "without warning", take note that the introductory material on ANEW specifically warns users: "When reporting a user here, your own behavior will also be scrutinized." Since anyone who goes on to file a report is assumed to have read that and understood WP:BOOMERANG just as much as they would at AN/I, a specific warning is unnecessary. I've blocked both the reporting and reported editors on a couple of previous occasions (not always for the same amount of time); I'm not the only regular reviewing editor there who has. There is a specific argument in {{AN3}} for that. Daniel Case (talk) 23:32, 11 February 2023 (UTC)
- My takeaway from the above comment is that you're blaming Bastún for his own block, given what you did was within the rules regarding warnings; he reported someone so stuck his neck out. Then you blocked him in error - without warning, regardless of whether it was technically warranted. And still not even an apology for the clearly erroneous block of an established editor. Are admins beyond making errors? And beyond acknowledging them? C'mon -we've all been there - Alison 00:08, 12 February 2023 (UTC)
IP block exemption
Hi, I am requesting IP block exemption because several of my edits are controversial (specially those relate to Persecution of Muhajirs), and wikipedia recently got banned in my country which was pretty irritating. I am planning to use VPN to hide my identity because several of my edits contain information which might not please the Pakistani government.
I have read the rules for IP block exemption and fully consent to them. FlameAlpha (talk) 16:39, 12 February 2023 (UTC)
