Can you revert this edit please? https://en.wikipedia.org/search/?title=List_of_longest_prison_sentences_served&type=revision&diff=1105116556&oldid=1104956823 Shktriib1 (talk) 02:26, 22 August 2022 (UTC)
- Shktribb1 is a sock of prolific sockmaster Cadeken, who has created dozens of accounts and used even more IPs. See WP:Sockpuppet investigations/Cadeken/Archive. IPs in or near Tulare, California always pop up when a registered sock is blocked. They always deny it, but if there ever was a case that satisfies the WP:DUCK test, this is it. March 2023
You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on 2023 Covenant School shooting. This means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be although other editors disagree. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.
Points to note:
- Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;
- Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.
If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes and work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. Sideswipe9th (talk) 03:21, 29 March 2023 (UTC)
- "There is a bright line known as the three-revert rule (3RR). To revert is to undo the action of another editor. The three-revert rule states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts."
- Please read WP:EDITWAR before adding this to other users' talk pages. Silent-Rains (talk) 03:24, 29 March 2023 (UTC)
- If you continue reading you'll see how it says "
it is absolutely possible to engage in edit warring without breaking the three-revert rule, or even coming close to doing so
". ––FormalDude (talk) 03:26, 29 March 2023 (UTC)- Exactly. There's three main edit war warning templates: {{uw-ew}}, {{uw-ewsoft}}, and {{uw-3rr}}. The one that I issued was uw-ew, as what you were doing construed edit warring without breaching the brightline 3 revert rule. Sideswipe9th (talk) 03:29, 29 March 2023 (UTC)
- I am not in an edit war, so I don't need your template. Please do not contact me if you want to tell me I'm in an alleged edit war again. I don't need reminders. Silent-Rains (talk) 03:41, 29 March 2023 (UTC)
- When you twice revert to restore content that was removed and had no consensus for inclusion because of the removal, you are engaging in an edit war. Sideswipe9th (talk) 03:46, 29 March 2023 (UTC)

Introduction to contentious topics
You have recently edited a page related to governmental regulation of firearm ownership; the social, historical and political context of such regulation; and the people and organizations associated with these issues, a topic designated as contentious. This standard message is designed as an introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing.
A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as contentious topics. These are specially-designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee. When editing a contentious topic, Misplaced Pages’s norms and policies are more strictly enforced and Misplaced Pages administrators have special powers in order to reduce disruption to the project.
Within contentious topics, editors should edit carefully and constructively, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:
- adhere to the purposes of Misplaced Pages;
- comply with all applicable policies and guidelines;
- follow editorial and behavioural best practice;
- comply with any page restrictions in force within the area of conflict; and
- refrain from gaming the system.
Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations. If you have any questions about contentious topics procedures you may ask them at the arbitration clerks' noticeboard or you may learn more about this contentious topic here. You may also choose to note which contentious topics you know about by using the {{Ctopics/aware}} template.
