The X Prize is a series of monetary prizes for science and technology proposed by Dr. Peter Diamandis, the first of which, the Ansari X PRIZE, was a ten million dollar prize for a private spacecraft capable of reaching the edge of space.
The term X PRIZE may refer to any of the prizes:
- The Ansari X Prize, the original X PRIZE competition to create a private spaceflight vehicle
- The Archon X Prize, genomics competition to create a device to sequence 100 human genomes within 10 days or less
