Edington is a small village in Wiltshire, England, about five miles east of Westbury. It is home to Edington Priory and the annual Edington Music Festival. Although unremarkable in many ways, the village commands a vital place in English history, for it was here that Alfred The Great won a decisive battle against the Danes in the Battle of Edington, and laid the foundations of modern England.
