Hello, and welcome to Misplaced Pages! I was just reviewing your edits to the Steve Albini article. I'm not reverting, as some of the copy-editing seems to improve readability. However, I'd suggest reviewing ], as you've added a number of unnecessary wikilinks. Things that everyone understands do not need to be linked, especially in articles not germane to the subject. Because an article exists is usually not a reason to link to it. Most everyone reading the article knows about Chicago, Seattle, etc. without adding links that don't really explain anything about Albini. Again, welcome and I hope you enjoy editing Misplaced Pages. ] (]) 06:50, 8 December 2023 (UTC) | Hello, and welcome to Misplaced Pages! I was just reviewing your edits to the Steve Albini article. - Hi, thanks for your note about Johnny Grey. This article currently reads so promotional to me that I am afraid I wouldn't know where to start with improving it, so have tagged as advert and left it for others to pick up. It looks as if other editors have thought that there is a history of paid contributions. Best wishes if you do decide to work on it; the Teahouse is a useful resource if you need guidance. November 2023
Hello, I'm Tacyarg. I wanted to let you know that one or more external links you added to Kristyn Getty have been removed because they seemed to be inappropriate for an encyclopedia. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page, or take a look at our guidelines about links. Thank you. Tacyarg (talk) 08:47, 21 November 2023 (UTC)
- Hi, thanks for your message. I don't think there is any reason to have those external links to sites like store.gettymusic.com in the Kristyn Getty article, as they are promotional, but you are welcome to start a discussion on the article's Talk page, or to ask for advice at somewhere like the WP:TEAHOUSE. Best wishes, Tacyarg (talk) 13:52, 21 November 2023 (UTC)
- Hi, I'm not sure what you mean about suggest bot links, I'm afraid. About my userpage - the relevant policy about content is at WP:USERPAGE. I don't think I'm in violation of this, but please do flag it up on one of the admin noticeboards if you disagree. Tacyarg (talk) 15:35, 21 November 2023 (UTC)
Steve Albini and overlinking
