Histoire de France is Jules Michelet's multivolume history of France. It is his major work and has been described as "a masterpiece of French literature". The first six volumes were written between 1833 and 1843 and stop at the end of the Middle Ages, and the eleven volumes from the Renaissance to the verge of the French Revolution were written between 1855 and 1867.
