:@] Five more years to go here, although the government may move the goalposts again!
:How weird. I recently got to know someone who was at Peterhouse with Langmuir and went on to do quite a bit of mountaineering type of thing while running an army camp on Scotland. Then he took on a outdoors-y charity up there, around Aviemore IIRC. Alas, he's in his 90s and Alzheimer's has made an empty shell of him this last couple of years.

An editor thinks something might be wrong with this page. They can't be arsed to fix it, but can rest assured that they've done their encyclopedic duty by sticking on a tag.
Please allow this tag to languish indefinitely at the top of the page, since nobody knows exactly what the tagging editor was worked up about.

Have you come here to rant at me? It is water off a duck's back.

Caste promotion account

Hello, please look at this user he is editing majority particular caste related articles and is heavily using doubtful references. He is Rajput promoting account only. Check his contributions.

War article without any authentic source

Please once see this Battle of Mandan page. Not a single source looks credible. 2 out of 3 the sources are even low rated on Google books and one is by a caste historian.

References

1) Hooja, Rima (2006). A History of Rajasthan. Rupa and company.

2) Sinh, Ranbir (2001). History of Shekhawats. p. 280.

3) Meharda, B.L. Territory, Polity, and Status- A Study of Shekhawats.

Here 1st source is from some Rupa company, other 2 are from caste writers not credible historians.

This whole article is a propoganda against reality. Please User:Sitush check it.

Lowering the particular caste and warn

Warning icon Hey,Intentionally you lowering the Vanniyar community and protect the page by false information, Even if some political leaders, businessman..,etc are from Vanniyar community you forcefully prevent anyone from editing and removing the truth contents, if you have logics, ethics, truth means prevent all castes pages and do your job, What happiness you will found by lowering vanniyar community ?? RCSRICE (talk) 08:32, 21 February 2024 (UTC)

RCSRICE, why do you think that an experienced and neutral editor of our community, Sitush would try to degrade any particular caste or community! Basically, many users/editors are here only trying to promote their own caste, and we are here to protect such caste promotion/glorification! Sitush is mostly inactive nowadays; that's the reason, I replied here on behalf of the Misplaced Pages community. Ekdalian (talk) 13:34, 23 February 2024 (UTC)

Thoughts on reliability of source

Is Robert Sewell's work, A Forgotten Empire (Vijayanagar), a reliable source? From what I have read Sewell was a civil servant and his record keeping of the Buddha of stupa was criticized by Hoock, Holger (2010). Empires of the Imagination: Politics, War and the Arts in the British World, 1750-1850. Profile Books. pp. 338–341. --Kansas Bear (talk) 20:50, 18 March 2024 (UTC)

@Kansas Bear I've only read bits of it but wasn't impressed. It would fail WP:HISTRS and the spirit of WP:RAJ. As far as I am aware, he was just one of the many enthusiastic amateur "scholars" serving British administrative interests in India at the time. There were all sorts of them - ones interested in linguistics, comparative religions, history, archaeology, scientific racism etc. Best to avoid him, I think, even if no more recent scholarship exists for whatever the statement may be. - Sitush (talk) 21:00, 18 March 2024 (UTC)
Thanks Sitush. Yeah, I wasn't planning on using him. Stay safe! --Kansas Bear (talk) 21:38, 18 March 2024 (UTC)

Howdy

Hey Sitush--how are you, old friend? I hope you are well. Seven more years until I retire and then I'll come look you up. Hey, I ran into Draft:Eric Langmuir and thought of you--perhaps you can help it along. Take care, Drmies (talk) 22:26, 26 April 2024 (UTC)

@Drmies Five more years to go here, although the government may move the goalposts again!
How weird.
I'll see what I can do with it, although I think it probably already scrapes past GNG. - Sitush (talk) 18:39, 28 April 2024 (UTC)
