Text and/or other creative content from Sri Adhinathar was copied or moved into Vishnu with . The former page's history now serves to provide attribution for that content in the latter page, and it must not be deleted as long as the latter page exists.
The rationale behind the request is: "Important deity in Hinduism.".
Priority
Considering that Vaishnavism is the primary sect of Hinduism and most of the Hindus consider Vishnu as the Ultimate Being himself, shouldn't Vaishnavism have the priority especially at the introduction? —कृष्णकुलि || Contact - 06:26, 10 March 2024 (UTC)
Also note that non-Vaishnavas generally do not worship Vishnu. So worshipping Vishnu as a concept almost always means worshipping the Absolute Being and Absolute Self. —कृष्णकुलि || Contact - 06:27, 10 March 2024 (UTC)
Vishnu is a pan-Hindu deity, not restricted to Vaishnavism. For Misplaced Pages:Neutral point of view, we need to introduce him in a pan-Hindu context. Similar treatment is given in other references Britannica, The Illustrated Encyclopedia of Hinduism p. 759, dictionary of Gods and Goddesses p. 342. Redtigerxyz12:32, 10 March 2024 (UTC)
I don't understand. Why are you saying this budda is the incarnation of Vishnu. This is completely false information. Remove this from Misplaced Pages. 103.177.82.205 (talk) 16:48, 1 April 2024 (UTC)
There's a painting by Ravi Varma Press called Shree Vishnu that I think fulfils your criteria. According to one site it's supposedly from the 1920s - 30s. I'm still kind of murky about copyright and domain so I'm not sure how to upload it. Maybe we could get some consensus about this or another painting and try to make sure it will be here to stay before it replaces the current infobox image. Chronikhiles03:02, 22 April 2024 (UTC)
File:Vishnu.jpg is a good choice. Is only a picture of Viṣṇu in with four arms, blue skin, and holding conch, discus, mace, and lotus as in typical iconography. Chariotrider555 (talk) 15:33, 22 April 2024 (UTC)
Is this even public domain or just a random painting of Vishnu from Google? The artist, dating, and copyright status are all absent. We need a good representation plus these details to make an infobox image change stick. Chronikhiles16:19, 27 April 2024 (UTC)
User:Redtigerxyz, the image you suggest seems to struggle with balancing traditional painting style with Western influence, which is a bit off-putting artistically. Vishnu faces directly toward the viewer, but the artist does not seem to have a strong grasp on painting faces in Western photorealistic style nor proper 3D perspective. I think for an infobox image, the depiction should try to remain within a more firmly traditional depiction of painting or perhaps a pre-modern sculpture or idol of Vishnu. In talk page we didn't discuss about this image, we suggest only authentic image,Why you changed the old photo, atleast add previous image idol of Vishnu, see other Hindu deities , can you make changes? This is very propaganda on Vaishnavism.I know you are shaivism, you jealous on Bhagavan Vishnu. Shame on you.
